BTC Breakout Pro Prop Firm

BTC BREAKOUT PRO - PROP FIRM EDITION
Breakout-following Expert Advisor for Bitcoin on MetaTrader 5

WHAT IT IS
BTC Breakout Pro is a breakout-following Expert Advisor for Bitcoin on MetaTrader 5. It is built on the Donchian channel breakout, a time-tested price-action concept, and it is specifically engineered to run inside prop-firm challenge accounts (FTMO 1-Step and 2-Step) with strict, automatic protection built in.

WHERE THE STRATEGY COMES FROM
This EA has a clear and documented history. It is not a random collection of indicators.
The core idea is the classic Donchian channel breakout. In its original form it became the backbone of one of the largest and most successful systematic trend-following programs ever recorded.
The Bitcoin-specific evolution came from many rounds of quantitative research on real Bitcoin spot data. Channel lengths, ATR multipliers, position sizing, session filters and risk limits were all tested over nearly a decade of market history.
The prop-firm layer was added because failed challenges are rarely caused by the strategy itself. They are almost always caused by position sizing errors and rule breaches. The EA wraps the proven breakout core in a full risk-management shell that mirrors real prop-firm rulebooks.

Because of this, the core logic has been tested across complete market cycles, including bull runs, crashes, choppy ranges and the structural changes of recent years, not just one favourable window.

HOW IT WORKS
The EA follows a simple and mechanical breakout logic.
Entry: When the close of a completed bar breaks above the highest high of the previous N bars, it opens a long position. This catches the start of a new upward trend as soon as it confirms.
Stop-loss: Every position is protected with a stop placed a set distance behind entry, based on Average True Range (ATR). The stop adapts to current volatility instead of using a fixed number of points.
Exit: When price closes back below the lowest low of the previous M bars, the position is closed. A trailing stop and a move to breakeven protect profits at a configured reward level.

Because it is a trend-following system, it takes fewer trades than a scalper. It is looking for identifiable moves in Bitcoin, not picking up random pips.

BUILT-IN PRESETS
Four presets are included so you do not have to tune anything to start. Each is a balanced set of channel lengths and stop distance.
CLASSIC: Entry 480, Exit 240, ATR stop 2.0x. Fewer, larger trend moves.
FAST: Entry 200, Exit 100, ATR stop 2.0x. Strong trends, more frequent.
SCALP: Entry 100, Exit 50, ATR stop 1.5x. Shorter holds, more trades.
ULTRA SCALP (default): Entry 50, Exit 25, ATR stop 1.15x. Fastest, most trades.

You can also switch to CUSTOM and set your own entry and exit lengths and ATR stop. Every parameter is exposed in the settings.

DESIGNED TO BE SAFE FOR PROP-FIRM ACCOUNTS
This is the heart of the product. It reads what most traders ask for and builds it in automatically, so the account stays inside the rules without manual babysitting.
Daily loss limit with safety buffer. The EA stops opening new trades when the day's equity loss reaches your configured limit (3% for 1-Step, 5% for 2-Step). It stops before the hard limit by a settable safety buffer, so slippage and spread cannot push you over the line.
Maximum loss limit, static or trailing. For a 2-Step challenge it enforces a static overall cap. For a 1-Step it tracks an end-of-day trailing maximum, matching each rulebook.
Best Day rule monitor. On 1-Step it tracks whether a single day's profit is becoming too large a share of your total positive days, and warns you. This is the rule that quietly fails many accounts.
Equity guard. If a limit is hit, it can automatically close all open positions and stop trading rather than leave exposure running.
Consecutive-loss cooldown. After a set number of losses in a row it pauses for a while, preventing overtrading after a bad streak.
Max trades per day. Caps overtrading so one bad day cannot compound into a rule breach.
Session filter. Trades during the most active hours (London and New York) and can avoid the swap window and low-liquidity Asian chop.
News filter. Optionally blocks trading around high-impact USD news releases (NFP, CPI, FOMC windows), which matters on a funded account that restricts news trading.
Spread guard. Skips an entry when the spread is too wide, so it does not buy at a bad price.
Margin affordability check. Sizes the position so it never asks for more margin than the account has free, and scales the lot down automatically instead of failing the order.

There is no martingale, no grid and no hedging. All of the common account-killers are intentionally absent. Each trade is a single entry with its own stop and take-profit logic.

SIZE YOUR RISK THE EASY WAY
Position sizing is automatic. Choose percent risk (default 0.3% of balance per trade) or a fixed dollar amount, and the EA works out the correct lot size from the current ATR. A clear on-chart dashboard shows live balance, equity, daily profit and loss, progress toward your profit target, trades today, consecutive losses and trading status, so you can see exactly where you stand against the firm's limits at a glance.

BACKTEST RESULTS (clearly a backtest)
Backtest on clean Bitcoin spot data, 17 Aug 2017 to 27 Aug 2026 (about 9 years), BTCUSD_BINANCE H4, 100,000 initial deposit, 1:10 leverage, FTMO 2-Step rules. Every tick based on real ticks.
Net profit: plus 172,753
Total trades: 379
Win rate: 55.7 percent
Profit factor: 2.94
Recovery factor: 7.20
Sharpe ratio: 2.47
Max balance drawdown: 10,170 (3.7 percent)
Max equity drawdown: 23,988 (8.5 percent)

The maximum equity drawdown stayed under the 10 percent prop-firm cap across the entire nine-year backtest, and the profit target was exceeded many times over. Please note that these are backtest results only. They are not a guarantee of future performance, and live results will differ. Always forward-test on a demo or free-trial account before using the EA with a challenge or with real funds.

YOU CAN PUSH IT HARDER, AND VARIATIONS MAY PERFORM DIFFERENTLY
The default settings are deliberately conservative. They prioritise staying inside drawdown limits over squeezing maximum profit. If you want more aggressive results on a backtest, you can push the EA closer to the limits.
Lower the safety buffer, or raise the risk per trade. This uses more of the available drawdown room and tends to raise returns on a backtest, at the cost of larger equity swings.
Raise the max trades per day, or shorten the consecutive-loss cooldown. This increases activity, but with less protection against a losing day.
Tighten the ATR stop, or use the faster presets, to get more frequent trades.

Testing different combinations of these settings can produce better-performing backtests than the shipped defaults. Because every parameter is exposed, you are free to optimise for your own risk tolerance and broker conditions. We recommend you explore a few variations in the Strategy Tester and choose the drawdown you are comfortable carrying. The safest setting is not always the fastest to pass.

WHY CLEAN BINANCE DATA WAS USED
The backtests were run on Binance spot market data, not the synthetic or thin data many EAs rely on. Binance was chosen for its qualities.
It is the deepest and most liquid Bitcoin market in the world, so its price history is the closest representation of where real fills happen.
It provides high-frequency tick data with no missing bars, giving the Strategy Tester a stable and gap-free record.
Deep liquidity means the backtest spread and fill assumptions are realistic rather than optimistic.

This gives the backtest a solid and repeatable foundation. A buyer can reproduce the report in their own Strategy Tester by importing the same clean symbol.
