BTC Platinum H4

BTC Platinum H4 is a fully automated trend-following Expert Advisor for Bitcoin (BTCUSD) on the H4 timeframe, developed by AutoProfit FX. It was refined through trade-by-trade analysis across more than 8 years of historical data, combining disciplined risk management with several filters that target higher-probability conditions in BTC trend cycles. It does not use martingale, grid, or averaging methods, and every trade carries a stop loss.

How it works

The EA trades trend continuations on BTCUSD using channel-based entries confirmed by trend alignment and a strength filter. It trades both long and short to capture moves in either direction. The exit logic combines a volatility-based stop and target with a time-based component. Several filters reduce exposure during historically weaker time windows, and a bear-market filter and a circuit breaker help protect capital during adverse periods. The EA auto-detects the active symbol, which handles the different Bitcoin symbol names used across brokers. Position sizing is volatility-targeted.

Backtest results

Backtested on BTCUSD H4 from January 2018 to April 2026, with a starting balance of 10,000 USD on real tick data:

Recovery Factor: 6.60

Total Trades: 146

Win Rate: 48.6%

Average holding time: about 26 hours

The system remained positive during the 2022 bear market, when Bitcoin fell sharply, which reflects its bidirectional design. These are backtest results, not live trading results. In extended sideways markets the EA reduces activity and may go weeks without trades, by design. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Risk management

Position sizing is volatility-targeted, with a default of 4% and a configurable range. A circuit breaker pauses trading after a defined number of losses within a short period. A bear-market filter reduces exposure during sustained downtrends. The stop and target are based on ATR. A maximum holding time closes trades that do not develop. All of these are configurable.

Key parameters

The main inputs let you adjust the volatility target per trade, enable or disable the time-window filters, set the minimum and maximum holding time, enable the adaptive entry channel, set the trend-strength threshold, set the stop and target distances in ATR multiples, enable the bear-market filter and the circuit breaker, and set the magic number. The default settings are ready to use.

Requirements

Symbol: BTCUSD. Timeframe: H4. Hedging or netting accounts are both supported. Leverage: 1:30 minimum, 1:100 or higher recommended. Minimum deposit: 1,000 USD, with 3,000 USD or more recommended. An ECN broker with tight BTCUSD spreads is recommended; verify the typical spread is low before live use. A VPS is recommended for uninterrupted operation.

Installation

Attach BTC Platinum H4 to a BTCUSD H4 chart and enable automated trading. The default settings are ready to use. Running on a VPS is recommended for uninterrupted operation.
