Equinews EA is a news straddle Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 (MetaTrader 4 version available as a separate product). It trades only around scheduled high-impact USD economic releases and stays quiet in between.
How it works
1. The EA downloads the weekly economic calendar automatically and selects the high-impact USD releases.
2. A few seconds before each release it places a Buy Stop and a Sell Stop at the distance you set, and keeps them aligned with price until just before the news.
3. When the release moves price, one side is triggered. The EA corrects the stop loss after slippage and trails the trade once it is in profit. Orders that were not triggered are deleted shortly after the news.

Requirements and setup
- Attach the EA to one chart per account (gold is recommended, for example XAUUSD) and enable Algo Trading.
- Allow WebRequest: in Tools > Options > Expert Advisors tick "Allow WebRequest for listed URL" and add nfs.faireconomy.media. This address is used only to download the weekly news calendar.
- A hedging account, a low-spread broker with fast execution, and a VPS are recommended. MetaTrader must be running and connected at the news times.
- Start with a small lot. The EA places orders only around news, so expect long quiet periods.
Input parameters
- Auto-Fetch Calendar: calendar source, "High impact only" filter, day and hour of the weekly update
- Trade Settings: trading mode, magic number, seconds before the news to place and stop modifying orders, seconds after the news to delete untriggered orders
- Lot Size: Auto Lot on or off, fixed lot, balance step for Auto Lot
- One group per news event: distance, stop loss and trailing stop in pips
- Dashboard: show or hide the panel and its position
