MomentumFlow RSI

Overview

MomentumFlow RSI is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor based on a simple closed-bar RSI momentum approach.

The EA evaluates confirmed candles and does not use future price data for signal generation.

Strategy Concept

The strategy uses RSI(14) on the selected timeframe.

A strong RSI reading is treated as a momentum signal rather than an automatic reversal signal.

Entry Logic

Long:

• RSI(14) closes above 70.
• The signal candle must be within the configured 09:00–17:00 GMT session.
• A new long position is opened on the following candle.
• No existing position may be open on the symbol.

Short:

• RSI(14) closes below 30.
• The signal candle must be within the configured session.
• A new short position is opened on the following candle.
• No existing position may be open on the symbol.

Signals are evaluated using confirmed closed candles.

Exit Logic

Each trade uses fixed exits:

• Stop Loss: 50 pips.
• Take Profit: 30 pips.
• No trailing stop.
• No break-even modification.
• No partial exits.

The resulting fixed reward-to-risk relationship is 0.60R.

Position Sizing

The original strategy implementation uses 10% of equity as position exposure.

This should not be interpreted as risking 10% of account equity at the stop-loss.

Actual volume is normalized according to the broker's minimum volume, maximum volume and volume step.

Supported Symbols and Markets

The EA can be attached to broker-supported instruments where the broker provides suitable symbol pricing and trading specifications.

Forex symbols are the primary intended use case.

Always validate the EA on the intended broker symbol in Strategy Tester before live deployment.

Recommended Timeframe

The original strategy uses the 1-hour timeframe.

The broker/server GMT offset is configurable so that the session can be aligned with broker server time.

The default settings reproduce the strategy developed for this product.

Installation and Use

Install the compiled EA in MetaTrader 5 and attach it to the desired symbol.

The EA uses closed-bar confirmation and processes signals when a new selected-timeframe candle begins.

Check the broker's contract specifications, spread, execution conditions and GMT offset before trading.

For evaluation, use the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester with historical data appropriate for the intended symbol and timeframe.

Limitations and Risks

Trading systems can experience losses.

Actual results can differ from historical tests because of spreads, commissions, execution speed, liquidity, slippage, broker conditions and market changes.

A fixed 30-pip target against a 50-pip stop requires a sufficiently high win rate to overcome the negative reward-to-risk relationship and transaction costs.

The EA does not guarantee profits or future performance.

Testing Guidance

Run the EA in MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester before considering live use.

Use realistic spread and commission settings where available.

Test the intended broker's symbol rather than assuming that results from another broker will be identical.

Backtest results: Not provided. Run the EA in MT5 Strategy Tester using the recommended settings.
