SMC XAUUSD EA is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor designed specifically for XAUUSD (Gold) using a structured Smart Money Concepts approach.

Instead of relying on basic indicator crossovers or excessive indicator stacking, the EA analyzes market structure, liquidity behavior, institutional trading zones, and price displacement to identify potential high-quality trading opportunities.

The strategy combines higher-timeframe directional bias with lower-timeframe execution, allowing the EA to wait for a complete Smart Money Concepts setup before opening a position.

Core Strategy

The EA follows a structured trade sequence:

Liquidity Sweep → CHoCH Confirmation → Order Block/FVG Retracement → Entry Confirmation → Trade Execution

A trade is only considered after the required conditions have aligned.

1. Higher-Timeframe Market Structure

The EA analyzes swing highs and swing lows to determine market direction.

It automatically identifies:

• Break of Structure – BOS

• Change of Character – CHoCH

• Bullish market structure

• Bearish market structure

The higher timeframe is used to establish the main trading bias before the EA searches for entries.

Default higher timeframe: H1

2. Liquidity Detection

The system automatically identifies potential liquidity pools around:

• Swing highs

• Swing lows

• Equal highs

• Equal lows

• Intraday liquidity levels

The EA waits for price to sweep liquidity before considering a trade.

For bullish setups, the system looks for a sell-side liquidity sweep.

For bearish setups, it looks for a buy-side liquidity sweep.

This helps prevent the EA from entering before a potential stop hunt or liquidity grab has occurred.

3. CHoCH Confirmation

After liquidity has been swept, the EA waits for lower-timeframe market structure to confirm the potential reversal or continuation.

A bullish setup requires price to break above a recent lower-timeframe swing high.

A bearish setup requires price to break below a recent lower-timeframe swing low.

This provides additional confirmation before an entry zone is considered.

4. Automatic Order Block Detection

The EA automatically identifies potential institutional Order Blocks.

For bullish trades it searches for the last bearish candle preceding an impulsive bullish move.

For bearish trades it searches for the last bullish candle preceding an impulsive bearish move.

Detected Order Blocks are automatically displayed directly on the chart.

5. Fair Value Gap Detection

The EA also detects Fair Value Gaps (FVGs) created by strong price displacement.

Only FVGs larger than the configured minimum size are considered.

Bullish and bearish FVG zones are automatically plotted on the chart and monitored for retracement opportunities.

6. Premium & Discount Zones

The EA automatically calculates the active swing range and divides it into:

• Premium Zone

• Midpoint / Equilibrium

• Discount Zone

Bullish trades are primarily searched for in the discount region.

Bearish trades are primarily searched for in the premium region.

This helps prevent buying too high or selling too low within the active market structure.

7. Displacement Filter

Before entering a trade, the EA checks whether price has demonstrated sufficient displacement.

The filter evaluates:

• Candle body size

• ATR-based volatility

• Candle direction

• Wick-to-range ratio

This is designed to reduce entries caused by weak or indecisive price movements.

8. Volume Confirmation

An optional tick-volume filter compares current volume with recent average volume.

When enabled, the entry candle must show sufficient activity before the EA can proceed with the trade.

9. Automatic Risk Management

The EA calculates position size automatically according to the selected percentage of account balance.

Default risk:

0.50% per trade

Lot size is calculated using:

• Account balance

• Stop-loss distance

• Symbol tick value

• Symbol tick size

• Broker minimum and maximum lot restrictions

This allows risk to remain proportional to the trading account.

10. Automatic Stop Loss & Take Profit

Stop Loss is placed beyond the relevant lower-timeframe market structure with an additional configurable safety buffer.

Take Profit is calculated using a configurable Risk-to-Reward ratio.

Default:

Risk : Reward = 1 : 2

Both parameters can be adjusted by the trader.

11. Automatic Breakeven Protection

The EA includes optional automatic breakeven management.

Once price reaches the selected profit threshold, the system can move the Stop Loss to the original entry price.

Default breakeven trigger:

This helps protect trades after price has moved sufficiently in the intended direction.

On-Chart Smart Money Dashboard
