Smart Gold Dog is a fully automated intraday Expert Advisor developed specifically for Gold trading on MetaTrader 5.

The system is designed to analyze short-term momentum, trend expansion, breakout conditions and pullback structures on XAUUSD. M1 provides the primary trading timing, while M5, M15, M30 and H1 are used to evaluate broader direction, market structure and multi-timeframe pressure.

Smart Gold Dog does not open a trade simply because a short-term signal appears. Before an order is allowed to execute, the EA continues evaluating market extension, momentum quality, higher-timeframe conflict, local M1/M5 structure and the validity of the original trading setup.

The EA supports both BUY and SELL trading and automatically manages signal detection, pending orders, pre-fill validation, position management, risk control and exits.

This live trading signal is intended to increase transparency. Live trading results may differ from backtesting results due to factors such as spreads, commissions, slippage, execution delays, liquidity, and broker execution conditions.

Trading Strategy

Smart Gold Dog uses a short-term momentum and trend-structure approach.

The EA continuously evaluates price action, candle momentum, volatility, trend strength, moving-average structure and directional agreement across several timeframes.

When a valid setup is detected, the system can prepare a Buy Stop or Sell Stop pending order and wait for price confirmation instead of immediately entering at the current market price.

M1 is mainly responsible for short-term signals and timing. M5 is used for local trend, structure and entry location. M15, M30 and H1 provide broader directional and market-pressure information.

When a short-term setup conflicts with a confirmed higher-timeframe structure, the EA can reject the trade, delay activation or cancel an existing pending order.

Anti-Chase Entry Protection

Gold can reverse quickly after an extended directional move. Smart Gold Dog therefore includes dedicated anti-chase logic.

The system evaluates recent directional expansion, distance from local trend structure, candle momentum changes, local extremes, pullback behavior and the relationship between M1 and M5.

If price has already become excessively extended or short-term momentum begins to deteriorate, the original entry can be deferred while the EA waits for a more suitable pullback or renewed confirmation.

Pending orders are also re-evaluated when price approaches the trigger. If current M1 and M5 conditions no longer support the original setup, the order can be cancelled before execution.

Multi-Timeframe Confirmation

Smart Gold Dog does not rely only on M1.

The EA analyzes M1, M5, M15, M30 and H1 as different parts of the same trading decision.

Higher timeframes provide broader market context, while M1 and M5 have greater authority over actual entry timing. A strong higher-timeframe trend therefore does not automatically override clear local opposition on M5.

This structure is intended to reduce trades where a short-term signal is inconsistent with the current market environment.

Second Entry and Pullback Grid

Smart Gold Dog includes a controlled one-level second-entry pullback mechanism.

It is not an unlimited grid system and does not continuously add positions as price moves against the trade.

After the first position has been established, the EA evaluates the progress of the original position, current market structure, pullback distance, directional conditions and current account exposure.

Only when the required conditions remain valid can a second position in the same direction be considered.

The second entry is part of the existing trade campaign and remains subject to position limits, same-direction exposure limits, spacing requirements and account-risk controls.

Recovery and Dynamic Position Sizing

Smart Gold Dog includes a bounded loss-recovery sizing system.

Following a qualifying loss, the EA can adjust the size of selected future trades according to the current recovery state. Recovery exposure is limited by maximum volume multipliers, additional risk limits, available margin, concurrent recovery limits, consecutive recovery-loss controls and cooldown rules.

This is not an unlimited traditional Martingale sequence.

The EA also includes a dynamic base-lot mechanism that can adjust position size according to account conditions and recent trading performance.

When dynamic sizing and recovery are active at the same time, combined exposure is also limited.

Users should therefore select the initial lot size according to their account balance and acceptable risk.

Position and Exit Management

After a position is opened, Smart Gold Dog continuously evaluates the development of the trade.

The system includes initial risk protection, early trade validation, profit protection, adaptive trailing behavior, trend-continuation management and structured handling of trades that fail to develop as expected.

During the early stage of a trade, the EA evaluates whether price is making sufficient progress in the expected direction.

When a trade develops successfully, the system can progressively protect the position while allowing a valid intraday trend additional room to continue.

Trades that fail to make meaningful progress are reviewed according to holding time, maximum favorable movement, current adverse movement, volatility and closed M5 market structure.

Holding time alone does not automatically force every position to close. Longer-running trades are evaluated together with current market structure.

Risk Management

Smart Gold Dog limits exposure at the individual position, same-direction and total Gold-symbol levels.

The EA also checks spread conditions, terminal and account trading permissions, broker pending-order requirements, margin availability, duplicate pending orders and current execution conditions.

An independent maximum adverse price-distance protection is maintained as an outer risk boundary, including during recovery trading.

Optional account-level daily controls are also available, including daily loss limits, maximum trade count and daily target pause functionality.

News and Session Protection

Smart Gold Dog includes a USD Nonfarm Payroll entry filter.

Around the configured NFP window, the EA can stop opening new positions and cancel its own pending orders in order to reduce exposure to abnormal spreads, slippage and rapid price gaps.

The EA can also respect the broker's actual trading sessions and avoid new entries around market closing and reopening periods.

Symbols and Account Requirements

Smart Gold Dog is developed specifically for Gold.

Recommended symbols include:

XAUUSD, XAUUSDm, XAUUSDc and other broker symbols containing XAU.

The primary trading logic uses M1 data and automatically analyzes additional timeframes internally.

Because the EA can manage multiple independent positions, Netting accounts are not recommended for live operation.

Gold contract specifications vary between brokers. Spread, commission, slippage, Stop Level restrictions, liquidity and execution latency can all affect real trading results.

A trading account with competitive Gold spreads and stable execution conditions is recommended.

Backtesting

Smart Gold Dog can be tested directly in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester.

Because the EA uses pending orders, pre-fill validation, short-term price behavior and multi-timeframe analysis, testing quality can have a significant effect on the result.

Installation and Setup

After installing Smart Gold Dog through the MQL5 Market, attach the EA to a Gold chart and enable algorithmic trading in MetaTrader 5.

For the first test, the default configuration can be used as a starting point.

Users are encouraged to test the EA in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester and then observe its order execution and position management on a demo account before considering live trading.
