VANTAGE GOLD TREND V1 — Trend-Following Expert Advisor for XAUUSD
VANTAGE GOLD TREND V1 is a fully automated trend-following Expert Advisor designed specifically for Gold (XAUUSD) on the M15 timeframe. It combines dual SMA crossover analysis with MACD histogram confirmation and candlestick body validation to enter trades only when there is strong, confirmed trend momentum.
Strategy Overview
The EA identifies trend direction using a fast and slow Simple Moving Average. It waits for the gap between the two SMAs to reach a minimum threshold, confirming a well-established trend. Entries are further filtered by:
- MACD Histogram Confirmation — Ensures momentum aligns with the trend direction before entry.
- Candlestick Body Analysis — Validates that price action shows meaningful movement relative to the previous candle, filtering out weak or indecisive bars.
- Trend Momentum Check — Verifies that the current fast MA is at its most extreme point since the last SMA crossover, confirming the trend is accelerating rather than fading.
The EA places fixed Stop Loss orders on every trade and calculates Take Profit based on a configurable Reward:Risk ratio. No martingale. No grid. No hedging. Every position has a defined SL and TP from the moment it opens.

How to Use

Attach to Chart — Apply the EA to any XAUUSD chart in MetaTrader 5. The EA will use the timeframe specified in the input parameters (default: M15), regardless of the chart's visible timeframe.

Configure Parameters — Adjust SL distance and R:R ratios to match your risk appetite. The default settings are the ones used in backtesting.

Set Trade Direction — Use "Buy Only" during confirmed uptrends, "Sell Only" during confirmed downtrends, or "Both" to let the EA trade in both directions automatically.

Position Sizing — Set your lot size according to your account balance. Recommended: risk no more than 1–2% of your account per trade. For example, with a $10,000 account and 2000-point SL on Gold, 0.1 lot results in approximately $200 risk per trade (2%).

Max Positions — Limit the number of concurrent open positions. Default is 3. Set to 0 for unlimited.

Dashboard — Click the toggle button on the top-left of the chart to show/hide the real-time status dashboard.
