I'VE COMPLETED WEEK 2 OF MY 30 DAY RUN.
Well...Week 2 was poor. I'm not happy at all with the performance. What I've learned after 2 weeks is that hardware has time to do a lot more because it's very underutilized.
QUESTION 1: I just checked version numbers of the MT5 Strategy Tester Agent that I've downloaded a over the course of these two weeks and noticed that there have been at least two updates. Why has the strategy tester app on my computers not automatically updated themselves during the vast amount of time they haven't been doing any work for the MQL5 Cloud Network?
QUESTION 2: Is the amount of work that I'm receiving negatively affected by me not having the latest version of the MT5 Strategy Tester Agent?
QUESTION 3: What else can I have my computers do to make more money during the time that they're mostly unused by the MQL5 Cloud Network?
I'm guessing that someone has already asked the first two questions at least and I simply need to dig for the answers in the forum. If I don't see agents update automatically by tonight, I'll have to manually install the newest version.
Ok, it's Sunday afternoon October 25, 2026 and still have not found a reliable source as to why the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester Agent has not upgraded automatically on all 12 of my computers. What I did find is some strong conflicting information where some people clearly say that it will update automatically. But others are in the same situation I am, where it's just not updating automatically. So instead of waiting until tonight, since my computers weren't doing any work for the MQL5 Cloud anyway, I downloaded the recent installer from https://cloud.mql5.com/ and manually ran the installer on all my computers to update the version that was running on them. As of now they're all updated to what is current as of today.
Since there doesn't seem to be any official technical documentation on how the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester Agent updates, I'll have to look into making a process that checks versions automatically from the website, then installs any later version it finds. Unless someone can clearly tell me why the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester Agent will not update automatically.
