MT5 on Ubuntu – Some Windows Not Appearing (Screenshot Attached) – How to Fix?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently running MetaTrader 5 on Ubuntu 24.04 64 bits and I’m experiencing a strange issue — certain windows like the market watch, terminal, or trading panels are not appearing properly.

I’ve attached a screenshot to clarify the issue. Everything else seems to work fine, but these missing windows make it hard to trade effectively.

Has anyone faced a similar issue on Ubuntu 24.04 64 bits?
- Is there a recommended method to run MT5 smoothly on Ubuntu?
- Should I use Wine, Bottles, or maybe a VM?
- Are there any tweaks or fixes to make these windows appear correctly?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

close mt4/5 and try deleting file terminal.ini
It wont break mt. It will only change the placement of the windows to default placements. But note that this is common fix in Windows, but not "so much" on other OS's but has been known to work on them also.

Do not open the market, signal window, VPS and trade report on top of or under the chart windows. This is a Webview2 issue in Wine that is not yet fixed in MT5.

Thanks. The same issues persist even in the mt5 released this month. I've been sweating over these for 2 weeks thinking it's a Linux issue and trying to buy expensive windows vps. Thanks boss

I used Wine on Debian Bullseye for a few years to run MT5, it has its limits

VirtualBox has always performed far better for this kind of setup.

I then ran that for a year or two, giving the VM 2 CPU cores and 8 GB of RAM was plenty to run multiple MT5 terminals smoothly.

Eventually, I moved all my trading tools to Windows 11 and ive never looked back ( 3 computers) 2 Linux and the windows 11
