How to I cancel an order I raised with a developer who has absconded with my python codes

I

I placed an order for a developer to convert my Python trading bot into an MQL5 Expert Advisor. Unfortunately, the developer I selected hasn't delivered. He initially claimed the work would take five days, but it's now been over 20 days with no meaningful progress.

I raised an arbitration request last week, and the funds are currently locked. Could you please let me know how long it typically takes for the funds to be released, so I can move forward with hiring a new developer for the project?

You made an arb offer to the dev or did you contact the service desk with a request ?

At first you make an offer to the counterpart and if they dont respond after 7-10 days you then raise it to the desk.

(7-10 days after the offer)

@Lorentzos Roussos Thank you so much for responding to my comment.

I've already raised an arbitration, which I believe is the appropriate step for the MQL5 desk to intervene. The funds are currently frozen and marked as "held by mql5_internal." From what I understand, I’ll likely need to wait up to 10 working days for the funds to be released.

Unfortunately, the developer turned out to be a time waster. He originally claimed the project would take five days to complete, but by the 20th day, he had stopped responding to my messages altogether.
