Clarification on Activation Counts

 

This is strange, why moderator has removed my previous post!!!

Seems they dont bother to read fully or using some sort of algorithm which dont understand the difference between two posts.

Anyway, I have question as to if my Vendor of indicator asks me to 'reinstall' the indicator sold by them, siting:

you need to ask mql5 about that but if you didnt format you should be okey as long its same computer, but this is 100% due to update of mt5 or windows update

I did not reformat my computer at all.

Can someone reply that reinstalling will count as 'another activation' and without deleting the post?

The reason why your first post was deleted is because both threads are related to the same problem (the error with the indicator and activation). To avoid duplicating threads, it was preferred to keep only one.

Reinstalling the indicator should not count as a new activation if you have not formatted your PC.

If you encounter these types of issues, we recommend contacting the Service Desk directly rather than opening or posting in other threads. The forum is not the appropriate place to address these matters, as they are specific to your account.

Number activations is per hardware and per software, and you can check the avtivations available in your profile on this link: https://www.mql5.com/en/users/anilvarma/market

If you purchased the product and installed so you spend one activation. But activation will be lost because of major Windows updates, hardware updates and different authorization to the Windows (as a regular user of Windows or as admin for example).

If the activation is lost so you need to delete the product from Metatrader and install it once again from same Metatrader (and additional activation will be used because of that.

Thanks for reply and confirmation about activation count.

If I write to service desk they say to approach only for Financial matters.

Well first post was related to error 4805 and second post was to enquire about activation counts. In the second post I just referred to error on which the vendor responded to reinstall. I dont feel they were related anyhow.

I have 9 of 10 activations available to me.

I still have confusion, do I need to delete the indicator from 'Market' and then reinstall? I hope my activation will not be lost, there are no major Windows update (it is still Window 10 to Window 10) and I have not reformatted my PC.

Or I can simply go the Purchase section and use "Install on the Terminal" option?

You are still on Windows 10 during the major Windows update (and major updates are happened in very often way especially for Windows 10).

If you can not attach the purchased indicator to the chart (and you are fully sure that everything is correct from your side: you are not on external VPS, you filled Community tab of Metatrader; your MT4 indicator is for MT4 only and your MT5 indicator for MT5 only, and so on) - look at Metatrader journal.

When I can not attach purchased indicator to the chart so I delete this indicator from Metatrader and install it once again from same Metatrader.

 

Dear MQL5 Service Desk,

I have several paid indicators purchased from the MQL5 Market, and some of them have no activations left.

Before making any hardware change, I need clear confirmation about the following:

  1. If I upgrade only the RAM, can this require a new activation?

  2. If I change the motherboard, will my purchased indicators stop working or require re-activation?

  3. If I test new hardware and then reinstall the old hardware again, will the indicators work normally as before, or is there still a risk of losing activation?

These products are expensive, so I do not want to risk losing access.

Please advise me on the safest option before I make any hardware changes.

any hardware changing is required activation (means: activation was lost and you need to delete your product from Metatrader and install it once again from same Metatrader).
