And for nothing... Well, look, it is not the absolute indicator of "reliability" that is important, but what can be squeezed out of it. Agree that what is important is the reliability of getting reversal signals, namely the evaluation of:
1. How often they appear correctly, i.e. -1 when the price is above 50% of the channel boundary and 1 when it is below, and especially when there was a long series of -1 and 1 respectively.
2. How much noise the model makes, i.e. on the stability of the reversal forecast change on each bar.
why, the intersection of a function and its derivatives can be a goal too)
It can and it can, only if there is an understanding of how to capitalise on it.....
