Limiting downloads is good to protect peoples work.
if number of dowload is 5 and you format yout pc five times or mt4/mt5 crash on your pc five times and you reinstal the application five times again;it means another time you need to reinstall mt4 mt5 you have to buy the product again. i think consumer right is not properlly implemented that way. consumer should have total control of the product they paid for.
Format your PC 5 times ? Please, the need to format a pc is very rare. If you have issue with your PC, it's better to call as specialist.
AFAIK, a product is linked to your material not to your OS or MT4/MT5 installation, that has to be confirmed though.
1 - Classifying the Products in Sections of Forum beside MT4 & MT5 .i.e
2 - Adding History of the Products (Sale History Record , Buyers "customers" Rank/Notes...etc).
3 -In the term and conditons with seller should include Periodic discount (once / twice a year ) with minimum % of original sale price. and MQ announce for the products discount accordingly.

= answer is easier than metaquotes think .... just make more payments options free of hassle and free from additional fees ... do genuine quality check of products... do refund quarantee ... in short, learn from those already experienced such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, eBay and what every other solid and fair retail online store do.

Even if you bypass frustration from that payments' hassle, there is literally no guarantee for products itself, its quality, reliability, consistent profitability, lifetime free upgrades, pdf manuals, user guides, settings options recommendation, default setting is often too dangerous for customer' real money capital., screenshots (of specific product in the mql5.com market) often show unrealistically optimistic results etc.
Other things to add that may help
Registered users can purchase the premium product since they know the value of the product.There is no option for unregistered users in MQL 5.let the unregistered users be getting an option to buy the premium product which help to increase the sales by paying easy mode in MQL 5.
