Mining. Bitcoin mining is gambling. A real casino. Trading is not.

With the right leverage, the right balance and the right strategy, forex is an investment tool.

Once you'll see what's happening on the bitcoin mining world, you'll be sure that even, with wrong leverage, wrong balance, wrong strategy, forex is just a 2 possibilities dilemna.

Open a shop in your city investing your money in it with the risk of losing them if the shop fails, is gambling? No. It's an investment, where you can earn if it goes well. Trading is this, so it's not gambling for itself. But apparently it has the form of a game like gambling game, but it's not. Gambling is when there are no certainties of winning or when there are very few possibilities of winning. In these terms, playing 21 counting cards is not gambling, and trading with a dishonest market maker is gambling, like opening a shop without any experience.

Mining. Bitcoin mining is gambling. A real casino. A russian roulette. Trading is not.

Why?

Why?

Well by definition, if i understood the concept, mining (crypto) is about finding an unknown value called "nonce" for which the final result of the hash algorithm is lower than a predefined target value.

In the case of btc, this value may be anywhere between 0 & billions. When the equation is finally resolved, a block is found and there's a reward of 6.25BTC for the finder.

Those crypto-farms with plenty of gpu/cpu/asic increase/force their luck : they are massive lottery ticket buyers - they aim to try all combinations from 0 to billions one by one, one after one, until finding the right one !

So yes, it's a giant public lottery.

Trading is short term investing thus there is risk involved. For me a gamble is without skill. It's flipping a coin and 100% down to variance.

Whether or not to gamble is a very subjective judgment.
Because trading is different from gambling, but it overlaps most with gambling.
1. If you can try to control your emotions and risk, then you will start to be different from the gambler
2. If you can try to be good at calculations and try to build your own trading system, then congratulations on having your own way.
