Lucky and Thunder

elephante:
Someone tell me pls, which is the final version of *Lucky... v2, v2b or thunder? And i really need to load the template for both? Thank you!

Lucky v2b is the latest public version. There may be others, but no one has shared any demo tests. Thunder is very different, though it also works as a scalper during Asian Hours. The thunder ex4 file that is in the first post does not work well as far as I can tell.

If you wish to find out the difference, you can look at the v1e mq4 version of Lucky that is on the first post and compare it to the Thunder v1 mq4 version. They are very different. But I caution you that neither of these work well, because both are seriously flawed. Maybe Lucky v2b has been corrected, since it seems to work most of the time. However, occasionally it does not close when the stoploss is hit, or at least when it seems that it was hit. Also Lucky v2b will not close trades correctly on Friday if your broker is west of London. It is geographically challenged.

i think that your lucky v2d version is very improved one sl wise, seems better version so far, good job rdb

Version backtests

I run a little backtest with the last 3 YourLucky versions.

EURGBP M5, 01/01 -30/03, $10000 starting account, 0.1 fixed lot size, 90% modeling quality

- YourLucky v2b

Net profit: $2094, max dd $338 (2.73%), profit factor 2.34

- YourLucky v2c

Net profit: $2074, max dd $286 (2.32%), profit factor 2.37

- YourLucky v2d for spread 4

Net profit: $2062, max dd $227 (1.85%), profit factor 2.59

It seems that the drawdowns are smaller, while the profit is basically the same in the newer versions.

Where can we get the new versions?

As I got some questions and PMs: I received the tested YourLucky versions directly from rdb. Last week I donated to him, wrote him an email (not PM) and 2 days later I received the three tested YourLucky versions plus Thunder4WD v2b and v2d.

As rdb asked not to post about Thunder4WD in this thread I will not do this, but I can tell that during the same backtests both v2b and v2d performed better than YourLucky with greater profit factor and smaller dd. All 3 took the losses of last Monday though - no system is perfect. BTW my FAPTurbo lost on that Monday a large sum too.

In my opinion rdb is a great guy and this EAs are the best I have ever seen.

No difference

Hey kids,

a backtest of three months, difference nearly zero between these, "versions" and you really think v2d, whatever this is, is an improved version. Oh my god ....

Maybe this is offtopic

But it seems to me that the best value to optimize to would be profit / maximum drawdown.

Why is this not an option in MT4?

Clarification

When I say that, I mean profit is important, but so is drawdown.

So the best EA (and best settings) would make big profit, but with no drawdown. You want both.

The best value then, would be profit / drawdown percentage.

Big profits increase the value. Smaller drawdowns increase the values. Divide by zero makes you happy, for once.

What do you all think?

Also anyone have mid-term forward test (>4 weeks) on other currency pairs?

Seeing as this is a sort-of scalper on economically and timezone intertwined pairs, I'm specifically thinking about:

USDCAD

EURCHF

AUDNZD

Okay, I'll be happy with a smaller timeframe too, but I'm interested in longer timeframes.
