HAMA is Heiken Ashi MA:

Heiken Ashi (HA) modified using moving average (MA).

Yes I know, but I mean the HAMA indicator used in the HAMA PAD trading system

Though both of them (HAMA and Heiken Ashi indicators) have the same base, but their variables are different resulting in different shapes.

 

I have the heiken_ashi_smoothed indicator loaded on charts. one question is there something coded wrong with it. In a down trend there are full bars with no wick, but in a up trend no matter how strong there are always wicks, no full bars. It seams that there is a difference between the 2
