**Steinitz** Method Revealed Here - page 104

Arnold:
Don,

In post 857 you mention eliminating holding bad trades for long periods,

I think you will find that isn't possible "allowing wiggle room" & "keeping losses low" are mutually exclusive, IMHO,

however, as you don't seem to mind a bit of controversy, how about trying adding to a losing position or averaging down, as it is called, as most loosing trades only need time to recover?unchangingb lots

just a thought!

I appreciate the ideas. I was trying to keep the trading to consistent order lots not wanting to convolute the results with different lot sizes. I am having Lee take a host of ideas to try which include all the exit strategies that were programmed in from members requests.

If this is not eventful then we can look at other ideas.

Hi Steinitz,

I am trading the countertrend method and out of 15 trades we have only had one loss. I put a stoploss of 150 and a target of 30 pips. The one loss took out most of our profit. Please could you let me what stop you are using if any? This seems to be the weak area of this method what do you recommend. Also do you any statistics as to the best take profit targets to aim for. Thank you

David-T

David....

Good job! What you are experiencing is the very thing I am trying to work out. It is not an easy task. If we can solve this we will truely have a near perfect method.

I am working on this as we speak with two high level programmers. I will of course keep the members alerted when we come to a conclusion.

EA announcement

I am popping in quickly to give some results. I have the Ea for the Scalping method and tried a few settings. I need to talk with Lee more on the many different settings on the EA. I can see modeling is low.

Maybe I shouldn't post yet but I wanted to let you see what I am seeing so far. Also, getting reports from other programmers who couldn't wait and they are seeing steller results on the Original method as far as an EA goes.

This looks like it's no easy walk in the park and needs hand holding. MTF programming from what I can tell is more involved.

Hey Steinitz, what trading hours/sessions do you find this system most successful?

AceTrader mentioned his TF's and pairs he trades on the other thread. What pairs and TF's have you noticed seem the most successful with this?

Thanks,

Honestly, I have seen this work on all trading times. Remember we don't always know why price moves when it moves. We don't really care what is prompting it's movement. We just follow price. Price is a pure indicator. That's why this method is great it doen't need indicators per se.

It's all about price and not getting whipped out of the market when you are in.

"A man wears one watch and can tell time. A man wears two watchs and doesn't know what time it is"

Hey Don this has nothing to do with forex, well maybe it does in some way.

Spencer Tillman a former running back from the University of Oklahoma wears two watchs. One to tell time with and the other does not work. Its there to remind him that time will run out one day. Every moment is precious and many of his friends time has already expired.

He tells a longer story of it but thats the jest of it.

Now we get back to forex.
