EA on remote servers ?

Hello,

I want to set up an expert advisor running on mt4 on a remote dedicated server that I rent. Does anyone have experience with this- can give advice on pros-cons running programs on remote servers ?

Thanks.

thank you kalenzo, which windows version: web or standard?

and don´t you think that this would be `enough`(power and ram)?

My eye fell on these people http://www.flexservers.com/

My main question would be: can I approach the mt4 program the same way as I do on my pc at home, with the user interface etc...

haubentaucher - I dont know nothing about windows web edition,

but I think that only for one or two metatraders this offer http://www.flexservers.com/ with was posted by delsule is really good enough.

Like to share my experience with you guys. I have run MT4 on VPS for almost three months now, and seems like everything is doing well. I think VPS is your solution. Hope this help

firedave,

so no need for a dedicated server ? A virtual server can do the job as well?

Thanks.

If you are going to trade with real money a vps has some potential security risks since the machine (hardware) is shared by other people you don't know.

I think a dedicated server is more expensive than a VPS, unless you could have it cheaper. I also thing MT4 only consume low bandwidth, so maybe you could run more than 10 MT4 on 1 VPS. Right now I have 9 on my VPS. Hope this help
