Round Number Levels draws horizontal lines at round prices around the current price, for example every 50 dollars on gold, every 100 pips on EURUSD or every 1,000 on Bitcoin. Many traders watch these "psychological" prices, so it is useful to have them on the chart without drawing them by hand.
How it works
- With the automatic step, the minor step is about one hundredth of the price, rounded to 1, 2 or 5 times a power of ten. Gold near 4,000 gives 50, EURUSD near 1.10 gives 0.01, and Bitcoin near 100,000 gives 1,000.
- Turn the automatic step off to type your own.
- Every N-th line (5 by default) is a major line, drawn thicker and in the brand colour. Minor lines are thin and faint and sit behind the candles.
- Lines are placed above and below the current price (6 each side by default) and span the whole chart.
- Price labels can be shown on every line or on major lines only, just right of the last bar.
- The lines are rebuilt only when price moves into a new step, so the indicator stays light.
Inputs
- Step: automatic or manual, manual step, major line every N steps, lines above and below price.
- Display: minor and major colours, minor style, labels and which lines carry them.
Limits
- The set of lines follows the latest price. When price moves far, the lines shift with it.
- The automatic step suits most symbols but not all; use a manual step for a specific market.
- Round numbers are reference prices only. The indicator does not say when to buy or sell.
The indicator does not trade or give signals.
