EquityShield watches your account equity on every tick and enforces the risk limits you set. When a limit is reached it closes the guarded positions, optionally deletes pending orders, and keeps trading blocked until the next reset, to help keep a bad day from turning into a blown account.
Limits
- Daily loss limit, in percent of the day's starting balance or in account money.
- Maximum drawdown limit, static (from the initial balance) or trailing (from the peak equity).
- Optional daily profit target: lock in the day once it is reached.
What happens on a trigger
- Closes all guarded positions and, if enabled, deletes pending orders.
- Daily loss or daily target: trading stays blocked until the next trading day.
- Maximum drawdown: trading stays blocked permanently, even after a terminal restart, until you delete the utility's global variables (F3, prefix shown on the panel).
- Any new trade opened while blocked is closed immediately.
- Terminal alert and, optionally, a push notification to your phone.
- The state (peak equity, blocks) survives a terminal restart.
Scope
- Guard the whole account, or a single magic number. With a magic number, the limits are measured only on that magic's profit and loss, so other robots on the same account cannot trigger it, and only that magic's trades are closed.
On-chart panel
- Shows status (ACTIVE / BLOCKED), equity, day's starting balance, day P/L, initial balance, peak equity and the reason for the last trigger.
Important
- EquityShield is a risk management utility. It does not open trades on demo or real accounts and does not generate profits.
- It does not guarantee compliance with any prop firm's rules. Check your firm's exact definitions of daily loss and drawdown.
- Slippage, gaps and closed markets can make the final loss exceed the configured limit.
- Keep the terminal running (for example on a VPS); the guard only acts while MetaTrader 5 is connected.
- In the Strategy Tester the utility opens demo trades only to show how the guard works, as required for Market validation.
