Risk and Position Size Traderstart

TraderStart Risk and Position Size is an interactive trade-planning indicator for MetaTrader 5.

It is designed to answer a practical question before a trade is placed:

How much am I actually risking with these Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit levels?

The indicator places three draggable chart levels — Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit — and updates the planning calculations as those levels move.

TWO SIZING MODES

Risk % Mode
Choose a planning balance and risk percentage. The indicator calculates the lot size required for the current Entry and Stop Loss distance.

Lot Size Mode
Enter the lot size you want to trade. The indicator calculates the actual money risk and actual percentage of the planning balance.

BROKER-AWARE SIZING

Different symbols and brokers use different minimum lots, lot steps, tick sizes and tick values.

The indicator reads the symbol's trading properties from MetaTrader 5 and shows when the calculated risk-based position is smaller than the broker's minimum tradable lot.

When this happens, the indicator displays:
- the required lot size;
- the broker minimum lot;
- the risk created by the minimum lot;
- and the planning balance required to use the selected risk percentage with the current stop distance.

PLANNING BALANCE

You can:
- use the current MT5 account balance; or
- enter a separate planning balance.

This makes it possible to model a trade without changing the account itself.

INTERACTIVE CHART LEVELS

The Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit lines are draggable.

As the levels move, the indicator refreshes:
- position size;
- actual risk;
- risk : reward;
- Stop Loss outcome;
- Take Profit outcome;
- projected balances.

CUSTOM RISK AND LOT SIZE

Quick risk buttons are available for common values, while Custom Risk and Set Lot allow other values to be entered.

The panel clearly shows which sizing mode is active.

SUPPORTED USE

The indicator uses the broker's symbol properties instead of assuming a fixed pip value, making it suitable for supported Forex pairs, metals, indices, crypto CFDs and other MT5 symbols where the broker provides valid tick-value and volume information.

IMPORTANT

This indicator is a planning and calculation tool only.

It does not open, modify or close trades.

MetaTrader mobile applications do not run custom MQL5 indicators. The product is intended for the MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal.
