Hi everyone, this is Kirk, the developer of the GoldRush Trend Arrow Signal indicator.

This is just a quick message to outline my own personal trading strategy, which makes use of the indicator. I hope that what I outline below will help people.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Before reading on, please note that this strategy does not guarantee profits, and neither does the indicator itself, but with a sound money management plan and careful execution I am hopeful that we can all be profitable.

Remember! This indicator is just one part of the picture - like anything in trading, psychology makes up the largest part of anyone's success.

The STRATEGY:

I am a fan of 'Fair Value Gaps'. And although I don't follow other ICT concepts I have always been impressed with how effortless my trading became when I finally understood the power of an FVG.

So my strategy uses my GoldRush Trend Arrow Signal indicator and FVGs, which are two of the main components.

The other important component is 'TIME'. I only trade during the first hour (or maybe two) of the London open, or the NY open. Markets are more likely to be moving with volume so I feel more confident about achieving success during these times.

I do NOT trade in the lead-up to a red folder NEWS event. Markets are unstable and any indicator signals are unreliable. I also wait until 10-15 minutes AFTER a red folder news event, before considering entering again.

The 10-STEP TRADE SETUP: BUY example (opposite for SELL)

1) MAIN CHECKLIST - 1 minute chart / XAUUSD ONLY / Trading Time (trading only during first 2 hours London Open or NY Open)

2) PRIMARY SIGNAL: for a BUY entry I wait for a PRIMARY arrow alert (White). (I set my White arrow alert settings to push to my mobile phone so I know it's time to go to the screen).

3) PATIENCE: just because there is a PRIMARY alert arrow it does NOT mean I need to jump in. I need CONFIRMATION.

4) Bullish FVG: now that we have a PRIMARY alert arrow, I look left to see if there is an existing Bullish FVG. If not I wait for one to appear. (FVG indicators are freely available, you can download and trial any available options on mql5.com).

5) MORE PATIENCE: now that we have a PRIMARY alert arrow AND a Bullish FVG it does NOT mean I need to jump in. I need ONE MORE PIECE OF THE PUZZLE...

6) SECONDARY SIGNAL: now we have both a PRIMARY alert arrow and a Bullish FVG, if a SECONDARY (Blue) arrow alert appears at the close of a candle, this is my TRADE ENTRY signal.

7) I enter a BUY trade with 0.25% of account equity using a 200 pip SL (keep in mind 200 pips for XAUUSD is the same as 20 pips for EURUSD due to the difference with the decimal point).

8) Once my trade is on I move my SL to the base of the SECONDARY arrow which signaled the trade entry. In most cases this will mean a 'tightening' of the SL position, (it is rare that I would consider 'widening' my SL).

9) I place my TP at a ratio of at least 1:2, i.e. if my SL happens to be 200 pips, I am seeking 400 pips as my TP.

10) WALK AWAY You have one life - so go live it. :)

Trading should not keep you from doing things you enjoy. The trade outcome will happen whether you are watching the screen or not. It will either win or lose. What's important is what happens over the longer term, how your account looks a month from now, not minutes or even hours or days. So get away from the screen and relax.

The above represents a simple, mechanical, low-risk trading strategy and I hope it helps you earn some pips. There is NO guesswork, NO staring at charts for hours. Just SET and FORGET.  :)

NEW XAUUSD M1 TRADE SETUP - June 5 2025 - London Open - Profit 280 pips - 6 mins

IMPORTANT NOTE: all pips are expressed as per their decimal point value, which for XAUUSD is 1 decimal place different when compared with standard FX pairs such as EURUSD. Do not be confused by this - a profit of 280 pips on XAUUSD is more or less the same as a profit of 28 pips on EURUSD (which is still a nice profit in 6 minutes!)

The Set-Up:

See attached screenshot showing an ideal trade setup for the London Open today, June 5 2025.

We can see straight away a White PRIMARY alert arrow appears, immediately followed by a Bullish FVG and a Blue SECONDARY arrow alert.

All of this happened in the space of several minutes, so you can be confident that this is a fairly strong move to the upside.

All elements of the Pre-Trade Checklist have been achieved...so we enter our Buy trade.

SL is placed at the low of the Blue (Secondary) alert arrow that signaled the trade, which is approximately 140 pips. TP is then set at an R:R of 1:2 - 280 pips (before deducting spread).

Price then quickly rose to take out the TP level in 6 minutes. 

Hi everyone.

There was a perfect trade setup on XAUUSD at the NY Open today. 240 pips profit in 2 minutes.

As always it is important to explain that '240 pips' on XAUUSD is really only equal to '24 pips' on standard FX pairs...(so don't get too excited...)

But it's still a great win!

After the NY Open we wait for a change in trend direction, which we get when we see the White Primary Arrow Alert.

The next step is we need to wait for a Bullish FVG. We didn't have to wait long before this is confirmed.

At the same time that the FVG was confirmed we see a Blue Secondary Arrow Alert confirmed at the close of that candle.

We now have everything we need to enter.

Stop Loss is placed at the Low of the Blue Secondary Arrow which works out to be 120 pips (which is well within our 200 pip maximum rule).

Our Take Profit is set at a R:R of 1:2, or 240 pips.

Price takes off and hits our TP inside 2 minutes.

There was a great setup yesterday during the 2nd hour of the NY session.

See screenshot...

1) White Primary alert arrow appears, so we check for an existing Bullish FVG.

2) No existing Bullish FVG so we wait - we don't have to wait long.

3) Now there is both a White primary arrow AND a Bullish FVG we wait for the next available Blue secondary alert arrow, and we enter at the close of that candle.

4) SL at the base of that Blue secondary arrow we used as confirmation, total SL = 120 pips.

5) TP set at R:R of 1:2 (240 pips)

6) TP was hit within minutes with ZERO Drawdown.

Not all trades are this clear-cut of course, but this is an example of what happens when you are patient and wait for the right setup.

The some alert messages are not coming sometimes for the primary indicator.The primary arrows automatically come automatically sometimes with a lag of 1or 2 candles.

Please tell me how to resolve this issue.

I have just replied to your private message about this however for the benefit of others reading this, please note this issue is being addressed by an upcoming version update V1.3, which I am testing and hope to have ready for release by this weekend.

I am pleased to advise that version 1.3 is now published.

This latest version sees some improvements to both the efficiency of the indicator along with some enhancements to the user inputs that allow greater control and customization.

Monday August 11 is the upcoming release date of the latest V1.4 Gold Rush Trend Arrow Alert indicator.

I am excited by this release, there are some great new features and functions and it promises to be a significant improvement over the previous version.

What a shame! I was so tired after having had SO little sleep these last 2 days, finalising code updates for this new release, I accidentally uploaded the wrong version of the V1.4 .ex4 file!

I am sorry to everyone for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. :(

As it is now too late to update V1.4 I have had to rename the CORRECT file 'V1.5'. I can ASSURE everybody that THIS version is the correct file.

I love receiving private messages showing me screenshots of people using this indicator to achieve profits. I thank one of my users for sharing their screenshot with me overnight.

This user is using the Gold Rush Trend Arrow Alert indicator as part of their own strategy where they also use FVGs to help make their trade entry decisions.

In the below screenshot you can see there were two SELL trades made, both winners, and both where there was a nice bounce off an FVG zone.
