Do you have the set file for this so I can test and verify?

Hi Lee, great EA. Is it possible to please consider more TP (EXIT TARGETS) options?
I use the EA for manual trading. For example, please consider an auto adjusted ADR % TP to be set as soon as manual trade is opened.
Also please an option for a Risk / Reward type of TP exit target option on the total position. For example, SL % ADR, then TP multiplier of SL % ADR.
At the moment only the % of account exit targets are considered. I think exit target / TP versatilities will make it so much more flexible for manual trading.
If all these TP / SL lines etc. can also be visualised on the chart. It will be fantastic to consider as an update please Lee!

This is a position trading EA, not meant for R:R type trading. The Price Action Toolkit has that functionality. You can use %ADR targets already. Risk is over 1 ADR so if you put 1 in there putting 2 in the target will give you 2 ADR as a target.
This is a simple EA for turning strategies into position trading which works on percentage returns not movement but the PAT EA will do all you want I suspect.

This is a great EA but it would be very useful to have a 'maximum number of buy/sell orders' setting as on the Market Reversal Alerts EA. Thanks.

Have you tested settings for gold or gbpjpy? I would love to hear and test it on gold

Also is there a configuration to avoid counter trend positioning? What would you sugest?

Use the tester and you will see the results. I dont trade JPY or Gold. Maybe stop by the daily live rooms on YouTube and you will see how I trade with the EA.

Dear, I am using your EA manually, I am reading and studying your system, and I find it really enlightening, in the specific case of your EA I would like to know how I should set the TP levels, if they are set by default or if they need to be entered manually. I saw where to enter, read some instructions, but I did not understand how to enter (in this case I read correctly) the amount of earnings to withdraw, and the percentage to withdraw and if both need to be entered. thanks

TPs are up to you, there is no one setting, whatever you want to use. There are different inputs for percentage of account, distance in ADR or money amount so you choose whatever matches the risk proflie you have used. Discord channel has lots of set files for the EA and there are 100s of profitable strategies to use with it, almost endless. https://discord.gg/tXStxA9FDA

Hello Lee,

Let me start off by saying I am very excited about your EA and the whole trading system / “philosophy” behind it.  I’ve been trading in a very similar way for years, and it is great to now have an EA that automates the whole strategy from entry to exit.

Your educational and supporting materials are great, I went through the whole bootcamp and all related videos you have posted on your channel.  I do however have some questions, apologies beforehand if I missed something you have already mentioned on your videos, but after 10 hours of material, it was quite a lot to take in, make notes, etc.  Hopefully my questions also help out others that might be running into the same issues.

I have been using these exit setting for the backtesting:

And I have been getting the expected results:

EA behaves as expected, it opens and closes orders just as one would expect.

But when I use these same settings for my Demo account, the EA is closing positions very quickly and on a very small amount of pips (much smaller than the 1 ADR # of pips) on all pairs:

Going back to the settings I am using, I have set it so it only uses 1 ADR as an exit, but as you can see, I am getting closed out at a minimal amount of pips, sometimes even 0.  I do find it strange that in the backtests the EA is closing “properly”, but on the demo with the same settings I’ve been getting very different results.

I looked at the logs to see if there was anything to examine (these are the EA logs of an order that closed at 0 pips):

I couldn’t find anything relevant here.

Question #1:

Given the settings I have posted, could you tell me what could be the problem I am having on my Demo account (that I am not having on the backtest)?

Question #2:

On your bootcamp, you show an example where you have 2 exit conditions (this was for the previous versions of this EA) and the way I understood it is the first condition that is met from ALL the conditions you have selected will be executed.  If the same is true for this new version, that means I could in theory select all exit criteria and the first one met, is the one that will get executed.  Have I understood this correctly?

Questions #3:

In this section there are 5 options, and it says to use only one. Options 1 and 5 seem to be of a different type than options 2,3, and 4.  The way I understand this from the explanations of the inputs you have on the MQL blog page is that options 2,3,4 will define the initial lot size entry, and it is from these 3 that you should only choose one.  Am I understanding this correctly?

Question #4:

I have been using the default setting of 1.1 for lot increments.  I understand that when using lot size of 0.01 it cannot make the increment on the first few orders, but when it accumulates to say 1.5, that it would round off, and then place a 0.02 order and so forth.  But no, the orders were all 0.01, even when it went past 10 orders:

Would this mean that lot increments cannot be used if you use a lot sizing of 0.01?

Question 5:

On this same trade (from above), I also saw some unexpected behavior.  The EA got into a huge drawdown and without having selected any drawdown control measures, it exited the trade with a substantial loss:

Would you know why this happened?

I have many more questions, but let’s leave it up to hear for now.

Thanks Lee.

Get support in the Discord group in future if you can. Too hard to answer all that in the comments section! https://discord.gg/tXStxA9FDA

1. Probably a data issue with your broker as you have ADR high and low hit at the same time which is impossible so ADR calculations are incorrect due to lack of data.

2. EA can exit on multiple criteria as exaplained in the video and manual so pick which ones you want to use, up to you on that.

3. Yes

4. No that wont work, you need at least $3k to position trade. Minimum lot size for incrementals needs to be 0.03 at least. Anything less than that you may as well visit a casino! :)

5. no idea, have a look at your backtest in visual mode and see why it exited with a huge loss. I cant answer that only you can.

I will ask one question per block to make it easier to answer.

1) Well, I have it now on 2 different brokers and I am getting the exact same issue, so it is unlikely that 2 separate brokers have the same ADR issue.

I can also see that the EA can make the proper ADR calculations for entry (displayed on the chart), so why would it be a problem when it has to use the same ADR data to calculate the exit.

Also, like I said, I don't have this problem on the backtester of the same 2 brokers.

Here are the latest trades from the new broker, same issue:

Furthermore, I am using 2 other EAs based on ADR and I don't have any problems with those.

What else could be the problem?

Ewor

Perhaps this helps:

Here you can see the ADR being calculated properly (if you disagree, please explain).

But look how the EA handled the exits:

So there is something very wrong going on here.

How to address this?

Just in case, here are the setting I'm using (hope the problem is somewhere in here):

Hello Lee,

Running into more problems when I try to run the Position Trader EA on a real account...

Backtests went great, Live trading, so far, not at all what I was expecting from this EA...

This is what I woke up to today:

Position Trader placed 2 orders within pips of each other...?  What is this about?   You can see more detail in the red boxes I posted above.

The set files are the same I posted yesterday, so nothing to add on that front.

So again...  I'm running Position Trader EA on 2 completely different accounts, with 2 completely different brokers and on BOTH, the Backtests are running perfectly well (like I already showed with my posts yesterday), so there is nothing wrong with the brokers, the data, or anything related to the platform.

I'm getting these VERY odd results (nothing like the videos at all), and I have no guidance yet on how to get this EA to work on a real account.

Lee, how can we get this EA up and running?

Come into Discord, provide your set files and can test it. Cant offer support in the comments section I'm afraid.
