Gold (XAUUSD) Expert Advisor: Candle Range Theory on H1, Turtle Soup sweep and confirmation candle on M1, with H4 trend filter. TP1 1:1, TP2 1:2.
Full description
CRT Sweep Gold M1 trades gold with the Candle Range Theory (CRT) model:
- CRT candle: the previous H1 candle must have a strong body (50% of its range or more) and form at a key level: a previous high or low, or a fair value gap.
- Sweep (Turtle Body Soup): on M1, price takes out the high or low of that CRT candle.
- Confirmation (Model #1): a strong-bodied M1 candle closes back inside the range, against the sweep.
- Entry: when price closes beyond that confirmation candle. The stop goes behind the sweep.
An H4 trend filter (EMA 50) only allows buys above the average and sells below it. It can be turned off. Signals are read only on closed candles, so the EA does not repaint.
Trade management
- 2 trades per signal (TP1 1:1 + TP2 1:2) or a single trade closing at TP1 or TP2.
- Built-in stop loss rules adjust stops that are too short or too long for gold.
- Optional breakeven of the runner when price reaches TP1.
- One open signal per direction. No grid, no martingale.
- Margin, stop level and permission checks before every order.
Main inputs
- Trades per signal: 2 or 1.
- If 1 trade, close at: TP1 or TP2.
- Lot per trade.
- Trend filter: on or off, timeframe and EMA period.
- Require key level (old high, old low or FVG): on or off.
- Minimum body size of the CRT candle and of the confirmation candle.
- Short stop rule: stops under 10 pips are widened to 12 pips (both adjustable).
- Breakeven at TP1, maximum spread and magic number.
Recommendations
- Symbol: XAUUSD. The EA reads M1 candles on any chart timeframe.
- 1 pip = 1.0 in price (USD 1 move). With 0.01 lot, 1 pip is worth about USD 1 per trade.
- Hedging account for the 2-trade mode; netting accounts get one trade per signal.
- Keep MetaTrader 5 running (a VPS is recommended).
