GF MACD MA Cross takes a standard MACD (8, 26, 6) and plots four moving averages on the MACD line itself. You read momentum shifts directly, and the indicator marks the moments that matter with arrows and alerts.
Features
- MACD histogram background: four colours show whether momentum is building or fading, above and below zero.
- Four moving averages on the MACD line: EMA 1 (the MACD line itself), EMA 5, LWMA 20 and LWMA 75.
- Cross signal (arrow + alert): EMA 1 crossing LWMA 20 marks a shift in momentum.
- Strong signal (larger arrow + alert): EMA 1 crosses LWMA 20 and LWMA 75 on the same bar. This is rarer and shows broader agreement.
- Strong reversal signal: EMA 1, EMA 5 and LWMA 20 break through LWMA 75, then EMA 1 and EMA 5 retest it and hold. A reversal arrow only appears after that sequence.
- ZigZag swing markers (yellow arrows): swing highs and lows are detected on price (default depth 48). The ZigZag line is hidden, so only the arrows show.
- Five alert types: EMA 1 × EMA 5 cross, LWMA 20 cross, strong signal, reversal, and swing confirmed.
- Alert channels: popup, sound, mobile push and email.
- Multi-timeframe calculation: run the logic on a higher timeframe while viewing a lower one.
Advantages
- Everything in one window: no stacking of MACD, MAs and swing tools.
- Signals in tiers: a plain cross for early attention, a strong signal for broader agreement, and a reversal for the most selective setup.
- Closed-bar mode: by default, arrows and alerts appear only after the bar closes, so a signal doesn't disappear when you look away.
- Works on any symbol and timeframe: forex, indices and synthetic instruments.
- Fully adjustable: all periods, offsets and alert types are inputs.
Input Parameters
Timeframe
- InpTimeframe (Current): timeframe used for the calculation. It must be equal to or higher than the chart timeframe.
- InpHistoryBars (3000): number of bars used for calculation.
MACD (background)
- InpFast (8): fast EMA period.
- InpSlow (26): slow EMA period.
- InpSignal (6): signal line period.
- InpSignalMethod (SMA): signal line method, SMA or EMA.
Moving Averages (applied to the MACD line)
- InpEmaA (1): fast EMA period. A value of 1 is the MACD line itself.
- InpEmaB (5): second EMA period.
- InpLwma (20): LWMA period used for the cross arrow.
- InpLwmaStrong (75): LWMA period used for strong and reversal signals.
Reversal
- InpReversalMaxBars (30): maximum bars allowed between the breakout and the confirmed retest.
ZigZag Swings
- InpShowSwings (true): show or hide swing high/low arrows.
- InpZZDepth (48): bars on each side a swing must dominate. Higher values give fewer, more significant swings.
- InpZZDeviationPips (5): minimum distance between a swing high and the next swing low.
- InpSwingOffset (12): swing arrow distance from the line, in pixels.
Display
- InpShowLines (true): show or hide the moving average lines.
- InpArrowOffset (5): cross arrow distance from the line, in pixels. Strong arrows use 2× and reversal arrows 3×.
Alerts
- InpAlertEmaCross (true): alert when EMA 1 crosses EMA 5.
- InpAlertLwmaCross (true): alert on EMA 1 × LWMA 20.
- InpAlertStrong (true): alert on strong buy/sell.
- InpAlertReversal (true): alert on strong reversal.
- InpAlertSwing (true): alert when a swing high/low is confirmed.
- InpAlertClosedBar (true): signal only on closed bars.
- InpPopup (true): popup alert.
- InpSound (true): play a sound when popup is off.
- InpSoundFile ("alert.wav"): sound file name.
- InpPush (false): mobile push notification.
- InpEmail (false): email notification.
Please Note
- Swing arrows confirm 48 bars after the swing forms (at the default depth). They show market structure, not early entries.
- Moving-average crosses lag. Use the signals with your own analysis and risk management.
- This indicator is an analysis aid and does not guarantee profit.
