Sigma7 Gold Swing

A nine-stream swing-breakout system for gold (XAUUSD) on resting stop orders. Every trade opens with a hard stop loss and a take profit. The stop moves to break-even once the trade is in profit, and the take profit follows the price when a trade moves against its entry. No grid, no martingale, no averaging.
What it does
Sigma7 Gold Swing places resting buy stop and sell stop orders at confirmed swing highs and swing lows of the gold chart. Nine independent rule sets, called streams, read swings on their own timeframes from one hour to one day, and each keeps its own small ladder of resting orders.
Every filled order carries a hard stop loss and a take profit from the moment it opens. Once a trade is in profit, the stop moves to break-even. When a trade moves well against its entry, the take profit is pulled toward the price, so a trade that turns back is closed before it reaches the stop, usually at a smaller loss.
Every position is sized on its own stop. There is no grid, no martingale and no averaging.
The distances of every stream are scaled by the ratio of yesterday's open to the price the stream was tuned at, so the system keeps its proportions as the gold price moves.
How to use it
- Symbol: XAUUSD (gold). The EA also runs on other symbols with the same distances as a fraction of price, but it is designed and tested on gold only.
- Chart timeframe: any. The streams read their own timeframes.
- Account: a hedging account is recommended. On a netting account the streams' positions merge into one position, which the EA then manages as one.
- Run one chart per account. The EA refuses to start next to another copy of itself in the same terminal.
- Keep the terminal running around the clock on trading days, ideally on a VPS. Resting orders and positions are read back from the account after a restart, so a restart does not lose or duplicate a trade.
- Deposit: in Risk percent mode the percentage controls the size only when the calculated lot is above the broker's minimum lot. With a 0.01 minimum lot, the widest stream's stop is about 180 USD per 0.01 lot at a gold price of 4,350 USD, so a balance of about 9,000 USD lets a 2 percent setting control every stream, and about 6,700 USD does so with streams 5 and 6 switched off. On a cent account the same holds at one hundredth of those figures. Below that balance the minimum lot is used and the risk per trade is higher than the setting.
- Test it in the Strategy Tester on XAUUSD first, and run it on a demo account before a live one.
Inputs
Risk
- Lot sizing mode: Risk percent sizes each order so that its hard stop loses the given percentage of the peak balance. Fixed lots uses one volume for every order.
- Risk per trade (%): default 2.00.
- Fixed lots per order: used in Fixed lots mode.
- Max lots per order: the cap on any single order, default 5.00.
- Max spread (USD): no new orders while the spread is above this value, default 5.00.
- Stop loss adjustment and Take profit adjustment (pips): added to every stream's stop and target. One pip is 0.01 USD of the gold price. Zero is the tested system.
Protection
- Cancel orders around NFP: on the first Friday of each month the resting orders are cancelled from 100 minutes before to 60 minutes after the release, and no new order is placed in that window. Open positions keep their stop and target. Off by default.
Execution
- Base magic number, Max slippage (points), Detailed journal logging, Show chart panel.
Features
- Allow long entries, Allow short entries.
- Trade frequency: Very low to Very high sets how many streams run; the default is Low. Custom uses the nine stream switches.
- Fake breakout exit: Off by default. Low, Medium and High close a fresh trade when the bar that contained the entry closes against it.
- Enable stream 1 to 9: used with the Custom frequency.
Chart panel
The panel shows balance, equity and open profit, the sizing mode, the spread against its ceiling, the trading status, and for each stream the resting and open orders, the current lot size, the closed profit and the win rate.
What it does not do
It does not use a grid, martingale, averaging or hedging of its own positions. It does not read news feeds and does not connect to anything outside the terminal. It sends no order outside the symbol's trading sessions.
Results depend on the broker's spread, commission and execution. Results in the Strategy Tester or on a signal do not guarantee future results.
