CaptainTrader — Trend Keeper for MetaTrader 5
CaptainTrader follows the higher-timeframe trend, waits for a precise pullback to enter, then lets a volatility-based trailing stop ride the move. No martingale. No grid. No averaging into losers. Every trade is protected by a real stop-loss placed at your broker the moment it opens.
WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
• No martingale, no grid, no "recovery" doubling — the tricks that eventually blow accounts. One position at a time, with a fixed, known risk.
• A real broker-side stop-loss on EVERY trade — your risk is defined before the trade is even open.
• Works on ANY symbol and ANY broker. Drop it on the chart you trade — Bitcoin, Gold, EUR/USD, indices. It reads each symbol's specifications automatically: netting or hedging account, FOK or IOC broker.
• Set ONE number — your risk per trade — and it sizes every position. No lot-size math.
• Built for trends: patient in choppy markets, presses winners when a real move develops (optional pyramiding).
HOW IT WORKS
It reads the trend on the H4 timeframe (moving-average alignment + market structure). When the trend is clear it waits for a high-quality pullback and confirmation, then enters with the trend. A wide ATR trailing stop then manages the position — cutting losers fast and giving winners room to run. That is why the average winner is several times larger than the average loser.
WHAT TO EXPECT (please read)
A trend system wins LESS than half of its trades — by design: many small, controlled losses and a smaller number of large winners. Losing streaks are normal; the edge comes from the SIZE of the wins, not their frequency. If you want a "wins every day" robot, this is not it.
BACKTEST (BTCUSD, 2018–2026, $100,000 start, Aggressive preset)
Net profit +1,012% • Profit factor 2.19 • Sharpe 2.82 • 466 trades • average win ≈ 6× average loss • modeling: 1-minute OHLC, spread + commission included. Results vary by symbol, broker and settings. Historical backtest data, not a promise of future results.
GETTING STARTED
1. Attach CaptainTrader to the chart of the instrument you want to trade. 2. Set your risk per trade (default 0.5%). 3. Done — it handles entries, stops, trailing and exits. Recommended .set files included (Conservative / Aggressive).
REQUIREMENTS
MetaTrader 5, any account type (netting or hedging), a symbol with enough price history. A VPS or always-on terminal is recommended.
