Five professional trend indicators fused into one signal. Configurable weighting. Three aggregation modes. One regime per bar.
The Aurora Trend Suite combines five independent trend-detection methods into a single, unified directional engine. Instead of cluttering your chart with five separate indicators that constantly disagree with each other, the Suite votes them into one clean regime — so you always know exactly where the consensus stands.
What's Inside
The Suite fuses five distinct trend models, each capturing trend behavior from a different angle:
1. VWAP Supertrend — A velocity-driven trailing arc accelerated by distance from session/weekly/monthly VWAP. Adapts dynamically to volatility regime.
2. Trend Cluster — A weighted ensemble of 5 SuperTrend instances with configurable ATR lengths, multipliers and smoothing types (SMA, EMA, WMA, HMA, LSMA, RMA). Uses internal threshold consensus plus a base-trend gate.
3. Average Candles — Trend direction derived from the relationship between MA(open) and MA(close). Supports SMA, EMA, SMMA, LWMA, and HMA smoothing.
4. Trend Regression — Linear-regression channel with reversal logic on regression-of-high vs regression-of-low crossovers. Filters noise via amplitude smoothing.
5. Flow Bands — Savitzky-Golay smoothed midline with adaptive supertrend-style bands. Catches regime shifts with minimal lag.
Each indicator can be independently enabled, disabled and weighted.
How the Aggregation Works
This is what makes the Suite different from a typical multi-indicator overlay. The five components don't just sit on your chart — they vote. You choose one of three aggregation modes:
- Threshold Consensus (default) — A configurable weighted share of indicators (default 60%) must agree before a regime flip is triggered. The regime is sticky: It holds the current trend until a clear opposite consensus forms. This is the same approach used by ensemble methods in machine learning and is highly effective at filtering whipsaws.
- Majority Vote — The side with the larger weighted share wins. Faster signals, more reactive.
- Unanimous — All enabled indicators must agree. Highest selectivity, lowest signal frequency. Use this when you only want to trade ironclad confluence.
The aggregated regime drives a single colored trend line, gradient-colored candles (saturation reflects consensus strength) and flip arrows on regime changes.
Visual Output
- Consensus Trend Line — A weighted average of the trend lines of the winning-side components, colored by current regime, with visible gaps at flip points.
- Gradient Candles — Color saturation indicates how unanimous the consensus is. Faded candles mean a split vote. Vivid candles mean strong agreement.
- Flip Arrows — Triggered only on aggregated regime transitions, never on individual indicator flips. Anti-repaint by design.
- Status Dashboard — A live panel in the top-left corner showing the overall regime plus each component's individual vote (BULL/BEAR/FLAT) and its weight.
Why This Matters
Most traders running multiple trend indicators face the same problem: Indicators disagree and you end up second-guessing every signal. The Trend Suite solves this by formalizing the disagreement into a single, transparent voting mechanism with adjustable rules. You see exactly which indicators are bullish, which are bearish and how that resolves into a final directional call. This is especially powerful because the five included models capture genuinely different aspects of trend:
- VWAP Supertrend reacts to volume-weighted price flow
- Trend Cluster captures multi-timeframe SuperTrend confluence
- Average Candles tracks smoothed OHLC drift
- Trend Regression identifies statistical reversal points
- Flow Bands detects supertrend breakouts on a Savitzky-Golay smoothed basis
The combination is genuinely diversified, not five flavors of the same calculation.
Configuration
Every indicator has its own input section with all relevant parameters exposed. Trend Cluster's five sub-trends each have their own ATR length, multiplier, smoothing type, smoothing length, and internal weight. You have full control over the engine, but defaults are calibrated to work out-of-the-box on most liquid instruments.
Aggregation parameters (mode, threshold, display options) are grouped in their own section at the top.
Who This Is For
- Discretionary traders who want a single confluence signal instead of juggling multiple charts
- System builders who need a clean, anti-repaint trend regime input for an EA
- Anyone tired of cherry-picking which indicator was "right" after the fact
If you've ever loaded three trend indicators on a chart and wished they would just tell you what they collectively think — this is that tool.
Note: The Suite ships with sensible defaults, but the weighted aggregation rewards deliberate tuning. Spend ten minutes adjusting weights and the threshold to your instrument and timeframe, the results compound. This is not financial advice!
