Overview
Axon Engine XAU is a high-precision algorithmic Expert Advisor designed exclusively for trading Gold (XAU/USD) on the M5 timeframe. It combines an exponential moving average (EMA) crossover system with an ATR-based volatility filter. Its modular architecture of internal records ensures orderly execution, with complete control over each stage of the trading cycle: signal, validation, entry, management, and exit.
Optimized for an initial capital of $1,000 USD, it operates with a fixed lot size of 0.50, maintaining a controlled and consistent risk profile from the outset.
Signal Engine — EMA Bus
The core of the signal generation is based on the crossover of two EMAs calculated from the closing price:
Fast EMA (9) — detects short-term momentum
Slow EMA (21) — defines the underlying trend
A buy signal is triggered when the fast EMA crosses above the slow EMA; a sell signal, when it crosses below. Both lines are visually rendered on the chart (cyan and gold) for real-time monitoring.
Volatility Filter — ATR Gate
Before executing any order, the system evaluates market volatility using a dynamic ATR ratio:
Short-term ATR (14) vs. long-term reference ATR (42)
Trading is blocked if the market is too still (ratio < 0.5) or too volatile (ratio > 3.0). This protects the EA from trading during flat consolidations and from exposure to volatility spikes caused by news or macroeconomic events.
Frequency Control — Frequency Bus
To prevent overtrading, the system incorporates dual frequency control:
Bar Mode (active by default): minimum 5 candlesticks between orders
Time Mode (optional): minimum 15 minutes between orders
This mechanism prevents the accumulation of positions on consecutive low-quality signals.
