Sentinel X AI is an automated trading system for MetaTrader 5 that combines a battle-tested H1 breakout engine with an OpenAI-powered analysis module. The dual-engine design gives you the best of both worlds: a deterministic breakout strategy that runs locally without internet, plus an optional AI brain that adds discretionary context when the market warrants it.
Built primarily for Gold (XAUUSD) but fully compatible with any major FX pair or index, Sentinel X AI is designed for traders who want institutional-grade execution with full transparency on every decision. The breakout engine is the foundation — it works offline, on a VPS, on demo, on a slow connection. The AI layer is the optional upgrade for traders who want a second opinion on the trade.
How It Works
The EA runs two independent systems that share the same chart but never interfere with each other.
The Sentinel-X breakout engine is a pivot-based range detection system. It watches the last 40 H1 bars, identifies the high and low of the consolidation zone, and waits for price to break out with confirmation from the closed candle. Once a breakout is detected, the engine fires the trade with ATR-based stops and targets. Every parameter is configurable: pivot length, ATR multiplier, TP/SL ratio, spread filter, ATR minimum, and per-candle guard.
The Sentinel-IA AI brain is an optional second system. When internet is available, the EA sends structured market data to an OpenAI GPT model and receives back a confidence-weighted decision. The AI can place new trades, manage existing positions, or sit on its hands when the setup is unclear. It is fully autonomous — it can KEEP, MODIFY, CANCEL, or ACTIVATE pending orders, and HOLD, MODIFY_SL, or MODIFY_TP on live positions.
The two systems use separate magic numbers (Sentinel-X = 8889, Sentinel-IA = 8999) and separate order comments (Sentinel-AIL for live, Sentinel-AIP for pending), so every trade is traceable in your account history at a glance.

Market Structure and Confluence
Multi-timeframe analysis reads the H4 long-term trend via EMA200, the H1 primary trading timeframe for price action and ATR signals, and the M15 for momentum confirmation via EMA9 and RSI.
The strategy detection engine classifies the current market into one of six patterns: Liquidity Sweep, Fair Value Gap Displacement, Order Block, Trend Following, Breakout, or Momentum Scan. This classification feeds into the AI prompt and into the local confidence score.
The confluence layer reads RSI, MACD, Stochastic, ADX, Bollinger Bands, Ichimoku, Vortex, and Volume. It also tracks weekly and monthly pivots, previous day high and low, psychological round numbers, and the London Fix time.
Risk Management
Pre-trade validation runs five checks before any order is sent: confidence versus the adaptive threshold, spread versus the maximum allowed, margin availability, order count limits, and duplicate trade protection within the configured window.
Position sizing offers three methods: fixed lot size, percentage of account balance, or a balance-based multiplier with five risk profiles from Safe (0.01 per $1000) to Aggressive (0.01 per $100).
Drawdown protection includes a daily loss limit that auto-pauses the EA, a consecutive loss counter with configurable cooldown, a combined position cap across both trading systems, Monday and Friday session restrictions, and a configurable news-event blackout window.
