One Decision, Four Rulers: Re-measuring the Window Length of My Gold EA
This is the fifth entry in the incubation diary for my gold breakout EA. The EA places a buy stop at the highest high and a sell stop at the lowest low of the last N closed M15 bars, only during 10:00 to 13:59 UTC, with an initial stop of 0.5 ATR and a trailing exit...

Execution Caliper User Guide: Setup, Reading the Panel, and Every Setting (Free and Pro)
What Execution Caliper is Execution Caliper is not a trading robot. It is a meter. It sits on one chart and measures the execution cost your account charges on that symbol, then divides that cost by the stop distance of the EA you are thinking of running...

Same program, three profit factors: the signal identifiers, the recomputation, and three corrections
When I published the launch post for Execution Caliper on 21 September 2026, its central example was one EA run on three accounts, showing profit factors of 1.08, 1.79 and 2.39...

Execution Caliper is live: a free meter for what your account charges an EA
Today I published a free utility on the Market called Execution Caliper . This post is the record of what it measures, what it deliberately refuses to do, and how it ended up with a different name and a different job from the one I started with...

Five Percent of the Trades, All of the Profit: Why My Gold EA Has No Take-Profit
This is the third entry in a public incubation diary for a gold Expert Advisor I am building toward a release around December 2026 or January 2027. The rule I set for myself is that everything goes in the diary — the measurements that came out the way I expected, and the ones that did not...

Seven Checks, Two False Passes: Auditing an EA Against Its Own Backtest
This is the second entry in a public incubation log for a gold breakout EA I am not selling yet. The first entry audited five trading days of live forward testing and found that only one of them had produced a valid measurement...

Five Trading Days, One Valid Measurement: Auditing a Live Forward Test
Over the next several months I am going to publish the full incubation record of one Expert Advisor — a session breakout system on gold, M15 — from validation through live forward testing. Not the marketing version. The actual record, including the parts where nothing worked...

The Zone That Vanished: Why Order Blocks Leave Your Chart Without Price Ever Breaking Them
Every few weeks someone asks me a version of the same question: "Your indicator removed a zone from my chart, but price never went through it. Is that a bug?" It is a fair question, and for a long time my answer was too short...

When Yen Crosses Stop Moving Together: Reading the AUD/JPY Fracture Line
The Bank of Japan left its policy rate at 1.0% on 31 July, an 8–1 decision with the dissenter arguing for 1.25%, and warned that underlying inflation is likely to run clearly above target from the second half of its fiscal year...

Zones, Agreement, and Survival: One Workflow from Entry to Risk
This is the fifth post in the order block series. The last one was a before-and-after story about adding a confirmation requirement to naked zone entries, and it ended where most posts about entries end: with a cleaner signal and a smaller trade count...

The Real Yield Flip: Trading Gold Through the 2026 Hike-or-Cut Uncertainty
A trader I know spent most of June convinced that gold had to go up. His reasoning was simple, and on the surface it was not wrong: inflation was finally cooling, the June CPI print came in soft, the annual rate dropped to its lowest level in years...

How Order Blocks Form, Mitigate, and Die on MT5 (No Repaint Indicator)
Most order block indicators for MT5 have one habit that quietly ruins them: they redraw their zones after the fact. A box that was not on your chart an hour ago suddenly appears exactly where price bounced, and your backtest looks flawless while your live account does not...
