SELVRIN V5 — Systematic XAUUSD Execution Built Around Evidence
SELVRIN V5 is an autonomous MetaTrader 5 trading system developed through long-duration XAUUSD research, systematic execution testing and repeated validation across changing market conditions.
The objective behind SELVRIN has never been to produce one impressive backtest.
The objective has been to determine whether a consistent methodology can continue to operate across very different environments — including trending markets, consolidation, changing volatility, strong periods, weak periods and adverse conditions.
SELVRIN monitors the market continuously, identifies qualifying conditions, controls execution and manages open positions automatically while MetaTrader 5 remains connected.
It is designed to remove many of the behavioural problems associated with discretionary trading:
No revenge trading. No FOMO. No hesitation. No emotional interference.
The system executes only when its internal conditions are satisfied.
Developed through long-duration historical research
SELVRIN has been researched across multiple years of XAUUSD market history rather than being created around a short optimisation window.
The current development programme spans market data from 2019 through 2026, with earlier-period research also used throughout the wider SELVRIN programme.
The purpose of using many years of history is not to suggest that historical results will repeat.
They will not.
The purpose is to expose the same methodology to very different market environments and determine whether the behaviour remains viable when conditions change.
The validation philosophy deliberately includes:
- strong years
- weak years
- changing volatility
- extended consolidation
- directional markets
- difficult drawdown periods
- recovery periods
- changing execution conditions
Poor periods are not removed simply because they make the equity curve less attractive.
That is intentional.
A strategy that looks exceptional only because difficult years have been excluded tells us very little about how robust the underlying methodology may actually be.
SELVRIN's development material explicitly keeps good years, weak years, drawdown and recovery together rather than cherry-picking only the strongest sections of history.
What SELVRIN does
SELVRIN continuously evaluates XAUUSD and determines whether current conditions qualify for execution.
When they do, the system handles the trading process automatically.
This includes the broader functions required for systematic execution such as:
- identifying qualifying market conditions
- rejecting unsuitable conditions
- controlling position entry
- calculating position size from the selected risk profile
- applying protective stops
- applying target and position-management behaviour
- monitoring active positions
- managing exposure
- applying internal risk controls
- preventing execution when required conditions are not satisfied
The underlying strategy engine, filtering logic, market-context rules and internal decision architecture remain contained inside SELVRIN.
They are intentionally not exposed as dozens of customer-adjustable parameters.
That protects the validated configuration and prevents a user from accidentally turning a tested system into a completely different, untested strategy.
Three operating profiles
SELVRIN V5 provides three distinct operating profiles.
PROP SAFE
Designed around controlled exposure and more conservative risk behaviour.
This profile is intended for traders who prioritise tighter account-risk control over maximum account growth.
LIVE GROWTH
Designed for systematic account growth using the core SELVRIN V5 methodology with a more growth-oriented configuration.
This mode is intended for users who want the system to compound over time while remaining within the validated V5 framework.
DEPOSIT ACCELERATION
The highest-risk commercial profile.
Deposit Acceleration is intended specifically for users who deliberately accept materially greater volatility and drawdown potential in pursuit of faster capital growth.
It should not be treated as equivalent in risk to Prop Safe or Live Growth.
The three profiles use different internal configurations while keeping the customer interface deliberately simple.
Simple customer controls
SELVRIN is designed so that the customer does not need to understand or configure the internal strategy architecture.
The primary controls are limited to the areas that genuinely need to remain adjustable:
Operating profile
Choose the SELVRIN profile appropriate to the account and intended risk level.
Risk
Default risk settings use the validated configuration for the selected mode.
Custom risk can be selected by the user, but increasing risk increases potential drawdown as well as potential return.
Stop Loss
The validated default protective behaviour can be retained, or a custom value can be selected where supported.
Take Profit
Users can retain SELVRIN's mode-default target configuration or use the available customer options.
Trading Time Filter
The tested unrestricted/default configuration can be used, or customers can specify their own trading windows.
Changing any of these parameters changes the effective configuration of the system and therefore changes the expected results.
Published historical results relate only to the exact settings stated alongside those results.
Engineered to reject trades
One of the most important parts of SELVRIN is what it does not trade.
The system is not designed to remain permanently active.
If the required conditions are not present, no position is opened.
That means periods with little or no activity are not necessarily a fault.
They can simply mean that no qualifying setup currently exists.
SELVRIN therefore focuses on quality of execution rather than constant trade frequency.
Risk is part of the system
Risk control is not an afterthought added to the trading strategy.
It is part of the SELVRIN architecture.
Different operating modes use different exposure behaviour, and the system incorporates internal protections designed to control how and when capital is deployed.
The goal is not to eliminate drawdown — that is impossible in trading.
The goal is to ensure risk behaviour forms part of the strategy itself rather than leaving it entirely to discretionary decision-making.
Historical backtesting and validation
SELVRIN's research programme uses historical testing to evaluate how the methodology behaves across changing conditions.
Where appropriate, chronological testing is used so that stop-loss, profit-protection and trade-management decisions happen in the same sequence that historical prices actually occurred.
The wider SELVRIN validation framework also separates development data from later validation periods so that later market outcomes cannot simply be used to continuously rewrite rules until a historical curve looks attractive.
That principle is visible throughout the research architecture: development periods are used to establish rules, after which later periods are kept locked for chronological out-of-sample testing.
This does not mean historical testing predicts the future.
It means the system is deliberately exposed to periods it was not allowed to redesign itself around.
Backtest ≠ live performance
All published historical figures should be clearly identified as historical simulation/backtesting.
They are not live-account results.
SELVRIN separates historical simulation, forward observation and live monitoring rather than presenting one as though it were another.
Historical profitability cannot guarantee future profitability.
Market structure changes, spreads change, execution differs between brokers, liquidity changes and future conditions may behave differently from anything contained in the historical sample.
Broker and execution differences
Results can differ between brokers because of:
- price-feed differences
- spreads
- commission
- contract specifications
- execution latency
- slippage
- symbol naming
- available historical tick data
- server time
- trading restrictions
For this reason, customers should not expect their account to reproduce a historical Strategy Tester report trade-for-trade.
VPS recommended
SELVRIN can operate automatically only while MetaTrader 5 remains online and connected.
For uninterrupted operation, a Windows VPS is strongly recommended.
A VPS is a remote computer that remains online 24 hours a day.
Once MT5 and SELVRIN are installed on the VPS, the customer's personal computer can be switched off while the VPS continues running the trading platform.
A VPN is not the same thing and does not keep MetaTrader running.
Installation
SELVRIN is supplied as a compiled MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor.
After installation:
- Install or open MetaTrader 5.
- Copy the SELVRIN .ex5 file into the MT5 Experts directory.
- Restart or refresh MetaTrader 5.
- Open the required XAUUSD / Gold chart.
- Attach SELVRIN to the chart.
- Select the required operating profile.
- Leave the validated defaults enabled unless you intentionally want to alter the configuration.
- Enable Algo Trading.
- Confirm that the EA is active.
For continuous operation, perform the installation on a VPS.
Designed for evolution, not constant modification
SELVRIN V5 represents a proven generation of the wider SELVRIN research programme.
Development continues separately.
Newer generations are not automatically released because an early test looks impressive.
A future version must pass further testing for profitability, drawdown behaviour, robustness and execution quality before it is approved.
If the evidence does not support the new generation, it does not replace the existing one.
Development therefore follows the evidence rather than a predetermined release calendar.
What customers receive
Customers receive the compiled SELVRIN V5 Expert Advisor together with setup and installation guidance.
The internal source code, research tools, proprietary models and strategy-development architecture are not supplied.
That allows the system to explain what it does and how it has been validated without disclosing the proprietary logic that determines exactly why an individual trade is accepted or rejected.
