QM Hunter - Quasimodo Pattern Detector with SMC Confluence

QM Hunter detects Quasimodo (QM) reversal patterns on any symbol and timeframe,

confirms them with a reversal candle gate, and scores each signal against three

Smart Money Concepts (SMC) confluence factors — Fair Value Gap, Order Block, and

Liquidity Sweep — that must have actively interacted with price before the signal

fires. The result is a three-tier graded signal (A / B / C) so you can

immediately distinguish high-confluence setups from weaker ones at a glance.

HOW IT DETECTS PATTERNS

------------------------

The indicator builds a strict alternating zigzag from raw swing pivots using a

dominance-validation pass that prevents legs from skipping over major intervening

structure. A Quasimodo pattern is identified across five pivots (P1 through P5):

  - Bullish QM:  L - H - LL - HH - HL  (right shoulder higher low)

  - Bearish QM:  H - L - HH - LL - LH  (right shoulder lower high)

Leg proportions are filtered by a configurable min/max ratio to exclude

disproportionate patterns. The zone spans P1 (left shoulder) to P3 (head).

Confirmation requires:

  1. Price closes inside the QM zone (configurable — wick or close)

  2. The following closed bar is a reversal candle (closes in the signal direction)

Both conditions are evaluated only on fully closed bars. The indicator never reads

from the live forming bar, so signals do not repaint.

SMC CONFLUENCE SCORING

-----------------------

Each confirmed signal is analysed for three SMC factors. A factor only qualifies

if price has actively interacted with that structure before the reversal fires:

  FVG (Fair Value Gap)

  A three-bar imbalance inside or overlapping the QM zone. Qualifies only if a

  subsequent bar trades into the gap before the reversal candle. The FVG rectangle

  extends from the gap-open candle to the first bar that entered it.

  OB (Order Block)

  The last opposite-colour candle inside the QM zone before the reversal (bearish

  candle for a bullish QM, bullish candle for a bearish QM). Qualifies only if a

  subsequent bar trades back into that candle's body. Rectangle extends from the

  OB candle to the first interaction bar.

  LQ (Liquidity Sweep)

  The right shoulder (P5) wick extends beyond the left shoulder (P1) level,

  sweeping liquidity, AND the P5 candle closes back inside the QM zone. Both

  conditions must be met — a wick alone without the close-back does not qualify.

Grade A  (2 or 3 factors)  — lime arrow

Grade B  (1 factor)        — yellow arrow

Grade C  (0 factors)       — orange-red arrow

An optional filter suppresses C-grade signals entirely if you only want to see

setups with at least one confirmed SMC factor.

BREAK OF STRUCTURE (BOS)

------------------------

Once a confirmed QM pattern is on the chart, the indicator monitors for price

closing beyond the P2 level after P4 has formed. When this occurs a dashed

trendline is drawn from P2 to the break bar with a BOS label, and an optional

alert fires. BOS is displayed as context information and does not affect the

confluence grade.

TRADE LEVEL PLOTTING

--------------------

On every confirmed signal the indicator draws:

  - Entry line  (at the reversal candle close)

  - Stop loss   (beyond the head / P3, with ATR buffer)

  - TP1 and TP2 (at configurable risk:reward multiples)

Levels are calculated once on confirmation and do not move. A built-in trade

outcome tracker records whether each signal subsequently hit TP1, TP2, or SL,

and these results feed the performance panel.

INFORMATION PANEL

A collapsible on-chart panel shows:

  - Latest signal direction, time, entry, SL, TP1, TP2, risk in pips

  - Confluence grade and active factors (FVG / OB / LQ)

  - Last 5 signals with grade and outcome

  - Overall win rate, total pips, wins, losses, open trades

  - Total patterns scanned and zigzag pivot count

The panel is suppressed during Strategy Tester runs to avoid UI overhead.

ALERTS

Alerts fire on signal confirmation and on BOS events. Each alert includes

symbol, timeframe, zone levels, reversal time, confluence grade, and active

factors. Popup, email, and push notification are individually configurable.

Alerts only fire on live bars — never during historical recalculation.

NON-REPAINTING GUARANTEE

-------------------------

Signal logic reads exclusively from bar index (total - 2), the last fully closed

bar. The live forming bar is never evaluated for signal decisions. Zigzag pivots

that are later reassigned by new price action invalidate any pattern built on

them, removing their chart objects immediately.

    analysis and want automated detection rather than manual scanning

  - Trade with an SMC or ICT framework and want to see which QM setups have

    FVG, Order Block, or liquidity sweep alignment

  - Prefer to make their own entry decisions and use the indicator for pattern

    identification and context, not automated trading signals

  - Backtest or review historical price action and need consistent, non-repainting

    pattern marking across all timeframes

  - Run the indicator on multiple charts and rely on alerts to notify them when

    a graded setup confirms

It is not suited to traders who want a fully automated system — QM Hunter is an

analysis and identification tool. All trade decisions remain with the user.
