Tokio Trigger: breakout EA for USDJPY H1
Optimized for USDJPY on the H1 timeframe. Backtested on MetaTrader 5 data from 2012 to 2025.
Overview
Tokio Trigger is a plug and play expert advisor designed for one specific setup: USDJPY on H1. It only opens long (buy) trades. Signals come from the Stochastic indicator and are confirmed by a breakout condition: a pending order is placed only if price moves above a key technical level.
How it works
- Entry signal: detects bearish crosses of the Stochastic %D, which may point to an oversold condition with potential for a bullish rebound.
- Execution: instead of entering at market, it places a Buy Stop order at the high of a defined period, so the trade only opens if the market confirms the move.
- Risk management: dynamic Stop Loss based on ATR multiplied by a fixed coefficient.
- Time exit: the trade closes automatically after a set time if the Stop Loss has not been hit.
- Friday filter: by default it avoids new entries near the weekly close to reduce gap exposure.
Backtest
Testing period 2012.01.19 to 2025.05.22, USDJPY high quality data, MetaTrader 5 hedging mode. Simple technical logic with few parameters to limit over-optimization.
Features
- No martingale, no grid, no hedging tricks.
- One position at a time.
- Works on hedging accounts and ECN brokers.
- Transparent logic that is easy to audit.
Inputs
MagicNumber (unique trade identifier), lot size, exit at the end of the day, Friday exit time (default 22:55 server time UTC+2, configurable) and maximum allowed trading range.
Recommendations
Use it only on USDJPY H1. Low spread and fast execution accounts are recommended. Test it on a demo account first.
This EA does not promise results. Past performance in backtests does not guarantee future returns.
