Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to set up the following trade with this trade manager.

Essentially I would like to open a trade and have a TP level where I only close a specified amount. When the trade hits the TP, I would not completely close the trade but set a trailing SL and then let the trade go until the trailing SL is hit.

Thanks,

Hypawolf

Hi,

To get the effect you are writig about, it is best to set the TP to a very long distance where the probability of the price reaching this level is very small, e.g. 1500 pips.

So let's consider the example. We have an order, eg 0.8 lot with TP = 1500 pips and we want to close 60% of the transaction after 30 pips of profit and start a trailing stop.

In the partial profit closing section, enable TP1 and set part = 60% and distance = 30pips

and in the trailing stop settings, set start = 30 pips and trailing, e.g. also 30 pips or how much you need to keep the stop distance to the current price.

Detailed instructions on setting up partial closing of transactions can be found here: https://investsoft.eu/blog/index.php/2020/08/14/trade-manager-partial-closing/

Having trouble activating the trade mgr onto MT5. As I am new to MT5, and when I login to my MQL5 acct on the platform, it only shows my purchase on the MT4 version. I goto the market tab at the bottom on my MT5 at the bottom and it doesn't show purchases? What do I need to do to get this added to MT5.

thx

If you purchased a program via paypal, probably a new mql5.com community account was created during the purchase for the email assigned to paypal. Now you have two mql5.com accounts and therefore you cannot see the order in your old mql5.com account.

If so, log in to the new account and install the program from there.

If necessary, send in a private message screenshots of your order on mql5.com and the appearance of the "Market" tab in Metatrader 5.

We can also connect to your computer remotely via anydesk and install the program.

For everyone who is waiting for a new update, we would like to inform you that the MT4 version is almost finished. We are still waiting for the MT5 version to be ready to publish both at the same time.

I am loving your tool. Purchased it this week.

Having one issue.

The EA unloads from MT5 when I am switching accounts. The different accounts have access to different Symbols.

I have unchecked the "disable algorithmic trading...." boxes on both accounts.

So when I switch accounts The current tab can no longer get updates and returns an error.

  • Experts initializing of Forex Trade Manager MT5 (US30.r,M1) failed with code 0 (symbol synchronization timeout)

Then it seems to unload the EA from all my charts

  • Experts expert Forex Trade Manager MT5 (US30.r,M1) removed

Now when I load the new account all my EA setups are gone. Any ideas or work arounds that we can think of?

Thanks,

Scott

Hello Scott,

This issue is Trade Manager independent. Every time you switch account, the metatrader automatically reloads all EAs and indicators on the chart. The problem is with a symbol name that contains a ".r" suffix.

The situation is that one account has the symbol "US30.r" and the other account has the symbol "US30". These are two different symbols for the metatrader program, so if you switch to an account without the symbol "US30.r", the chart is not properly initialized and synchronized, therefore the metatrader cannot run any EA on it either.

Thanks for your reply. I have found a solution. Incase others have the same problem: I am going to run 2 instances of Metatrader on the same computer to resolve this Metatrader related issue.

Thanks!

Hi, im trying to run a setup with the trailing.

i think i set it up wrong, im a bit confused with the percent part.  I set my TP at 10 RR and i set my partial profit 1 at (close) 50% at 10% (1:1 RR) and my trailing start at 10% (1:1) and my trailing should be at what % if i want it to start at break even?(i set it to 100% which should be the same amount as the 10% of the start/ or did i get that wrong? because it closed my whole order) and trail from there on?

(I love the trade manager, i tried to leave a review a couple of times but i kept getting 404 page when i tried to submit it.)

Hello Anthony,

When it comes to Trailing %, it means that it is to protect the designated % of the already earned profit. For example, if you set Trailing to 10%, then having, for example, 30 pips of profit, the program will set the stop to protect 10% of 30pips = 3 pips of profit.

Soon we will also add the "rr" option to the Trailing Stop settings.

P.s. When it comes to adding a review, try clearing your browser's cache or try using a different browser.

We just released the latest version of EA Trade Manager.

What's New in Version 3.30:

- information bar for each order placed
- the possibility of modifying the order by dragging the lines on the chart
- an additional panel for managing individual transactions, allowing you to set separate settings for each order.
- changing the operation rule for automatic Break Even. After the execution of the Break Even function, it is turned off, which allows for further "manual" control of the stop level.
- in the parameters of partial closing, you can use the "rr" unit when determining the activation level with the active Trailing Stop and Break Even (the program remembers the initial stop loss)

You can read more about the changes here: https://investsoft.eu/blog/index.php/2021/10/21/trade-manager-mt4-mt5-whats-new-in-ver-3-30/

ATTENTION! In the MT5 version a fix has been published related to the detected problem with saving the settings for pending orders. The valid version for MT5 is version 3.31.

oh ok thank you, so how would i go about now with the new update to set the Stop loss to move to break even at 1:1, close 50% and trail from there on?

So partial close should be activated at 1rr and close half of the order:

Trailing Stop will start as soon as the price is 10% to TP (1rr), but in order for TS to switch SL to BE at the start, you need to enter the starting distance SL in pips in the trail parameter (or convert 10% of the distance to TP into pips).

A detailed Trade Manager user manual will be published on our blog soon.

Below I provide descriptions of the Break Even and Trailng Stop parameters and a link to the description of the partial transaction closing function.

Break Even:
Activation:
* pips: after xx pips of profit move SL to BE
* percent means % of distance to TP, eg TP=120 pips BE Activation = 30% means activate BE at 36 pips of profit (30% of 120 pips)
* RR means distance as ratio of SL distance eg activation = 1.0 R:R and SL = 30 pips then activate BE at 30 pips of profit;
another example BE activation = 1.5 R:R and SL= 30 pips then activate BE at 45 pips of profit

Profit parameter means the amount you need to protect by a BreakEven option.
If you have BUY order and set BE activation= 50 pips and profit = 20 pips then after gaining 50 pips of profit it moves Stop to 20 pips over the open level, so if price turns back and hits your stop you get 20 pips of profit protected by a Break Even.
Profit value in percent means % of current profit, so when you set BE profit = 50% and in the moment of activation of BE profit is eg 30 pips then Stop is moved to 15 pips (50% of 30 pips)

Trailing Stop
Trailing stop have 3 params to set:

- Start: number of pips of profit to activate trailing stop. The "Start" value can be defined as the distance in pips from the opening price or as a% of the distance from the opening price to Take Profit.
- Trailing: when trailing stop will start and move stop loss, here we can define a distance of stop loss to current price. The "Trailing" value can be defined as a fixed stop distance from the current price, e.g. 20 pips or as a% of earned profit. For example, if we set the parameter trailing = 25%, then when we have profit = 40 pips, then the stop will be moved 10 pips from the opening price (25% of 40 pips = 10 pips).
- Step: how many pips of profit causes the move of the stop level, i.e. how often stop loss is to be moved.

For example. Set parameters:

Start = 10 pips
Trailing = 20 pips
Step = 5 pips

When order will reach 10 pips profit stop loss will be moved to 20 pips from current price, so in the worst scenario when price will back we lost only 10 pips).

When price moves 5 pips higher, we will have 15 pips of unrealized profit and stop loss will be moved 5 pips closer to current price, so in this worst scenario when price will back down we lost only 5 pips...
...and so on.

YOU ARE THE BEST! GREAT EA AND SUPPORT!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

So how i set it up was.

RRR 10.00

Partial profit closing TP1 = 50% close part / 1 RR Distance

Break Even Activate = 1 RR / Profit 0.0%

Trailing Stops Start = 10% / Trailing 0.0% / Steps 5 pips

-----

So this should close 50% of my profit at 1:1 and let the rest run till it stopped out. Correct? or did i get it wrong? hahaha sorry for so many questions.

Thanks!

If you set Trailing = 0% then the Stop will stay at the opening price because at any time 0% of the distance to TP will be 0. You should define Trailing in pips and it should be the size of your SL. If the initial SL in the trade is 18 pips then Trailing should also be set to 18 pips.

At 1: 1 program will close 50% of your profit and let the rest run till it stopped out or hit final TP.

Hi,

First off, thank you for building this nifty tool! Unfortunately, it is a bit funky on my end and the market/pending order buttons don't work either.

I suspect it has to do with being on Mac and, if it is, is this something that might be fixed in the future? I would love to be able to use it!

Thanks!
