XAUUSD Order Block Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5
Liquid Gold v3 is a rule-based MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor built specifically for XAUUSD (Gold).
The EA uses a structured price-action methodology to identify Breaks of Structure (BOS) and Changes of Character (CHoCH), locate high-quality Order Blocks, and wait for price to return to those zones before considering an entry.
Key Features
-
Order Block Strategy — identifies and scores Order Blocks created around significant structural breaks.
-
Multi-Timeframe Analysis — H1 for market structure, M15 for setup confirmation and M5 for execution.
-
BOS & CHoCH Detection — distinguishes continuation breaks from changes in market character.
-
Liquidity Sweep Detection — identifies potential liquidity sweeps around important zones.
-
Displacement Confirmation — looks for strong directional price movement before qualifying certain entries.
-
OB Quality Scoring — filters weaker Order Blocks using displacement, body strength, FVG, liquidity, zone size and freshness.
-
Risk Management — supports fixed-lot and percentage-risk position sizing.
-
Spread & Volatility Filters — helps prevent entries during unsuitable market conditions.
-
Daily Loss & Drawdown Protection — configurable account-level protection.
-
Trade Journal — records detailed information about entries, exits, R-multiple, MFE, MAE, holding time and setup characteristics.
-
Price Action Only — no RSI, MACD, AI, ONNX, martingale, grid, averaging or recovery systems.

How to use LIQUID GOLD v3
Installation & User Guide
1. Install the EA
Copy LiquidGold_v3.mq5 into:
MQL5 → Experts
Open MetaEditor, compile the EA and make sure there are zero compilation errors or warnings before using it.
2. Open XAUUSD
Open an XAUUSD chart in MetaTrader 5.
Liquid Gold is designed specifically for Gold. The recommended architecture is:
-
H1 — market structure
-
M15 — setup / approach confirmation
-
M5 — execution
The EA requires the execution timeframe to be lower than the setup timeframe, and the setup timeframe lower than the structure timeframe.
3. Attach Liquid Gold
Drag the EA onto your XAUUSD chart.
Review the input settings before starting:
-
Risk / lot size
-
Entry model
-
Order Block score
-
Session
-
Spread filter
-
Stop-loss mode
-
Take-profit R multiple
-
Break-even
-
Daily loss protection
-
Maximum drawdown
4. Enable Auto Trading
Make sure Algo Trading / AutoTrading is enabled in MetaTrader 5 and that the EA has permission to trade.
The Experts tab should display the EA's symbol, timeframes, entry mode and server-time configuration.
5. Understand the trading process
Liquid Gold follows this general sequence:
H1 Structure → BOS/CHoCH → Order Block → M15 Approach → M5 Retest → Reaction → Entry → SL/TP
The EA does not simply enter because price touches an Order Block. Depending on the selected entry model, it can wait for rejection, displacement, or sweep-and-rejection confirmation.
6. Monitor the EA
Use the Experts and Journal tabs in MT5 to monitor:
-
BOS / CHoCH events
-
Order Blocks created or rejected
-
OB mitigation
-
Liquidity sweeps
-
Displacement
-
Entry triggers
-
Trade openings
-
Trade closures
-
Rejected trades
-
Risk protection events
The EA also maintains a detailed CSV trade journal for analysis.
7. Backtest before going live
For the most faithful test of the intrabar logic, use Real Ticks or Every Tick in the MT5 Strategy Tester.
Test systematically:
-
Entry models
-
Stop-loss models
-
Take-profit ratios
-
Trading sessions
-
Break-even
-
Time stop
-
Volatility filters
-
Out-of-sample periods
Do not judge the EA only by net profit. Examine profit factor, average R, drawdown and out-of-sample stability.
Important
Liquid Gold uses broker server time for session settings—not your computer's local time or UTC. Check your broker's server clock before configuring London and New York sessions.
Recommended first step: run Liquid Gold on a demo account and validate its behavior before considering live deployment.
