QM Candle Timing Meter

QM Candle Timing Meter is a free MetaTrader 5 indicator designed to answer one simple question:

How late am I in the current candle?

A trading signal may still be technically valid while the timing of the entry has already changed significantly.

For example, entering during the first minutes of an H1 candle is very different from entering when 90% of that candle has already elapsed.

QM Candle Timing Meter continuously measures the temporal position of the current candle and displays this information in a compact chart panel.

Main information displayed

The indicator can show:

• Current symbol and timeframe

• Candle age

• Total candle duration

• Percentage of the candle already elapsed

• Current timing zone

• Time remaining before the next candle

• Time remaining before the ideal entry window closes

• Timing Score from 0 to 100

Default timing zones

By default, the candle is divided into four zones:

IDEAL ENTRY WINDOW
0% to 25% of the candle

ACCEPTABLE TIMING
25% to 50%

LATE ENTRY
50% to 75%

VERY LATE
75% to 100%

All thresholds can be changed in the indicator inputs.

Because the calculation is percentage-based, the same logic automatically adapts to different timeframes.

For example:

• 25% of M5 = 1 minute 15 seconds

• 25% of M15 = 3 minutes 45 seconds

• 25% of H1 = 15 minutes

• 25% of H4 = 1 hour

Timing Score

The indicator also provides a simple Timing Score between 0 and 100.

At the beginning of a new candle the score is close to 100.

As the candle progresses, the score gradually approaches zero.

Important: the Timing Score is not a probability of winning and is not a prediction of market direction.

It only measures how early or late the current moment is within the candle.

Optional alerts

The indicator can optionally generate:

New Candle Alert
Notifies the user when a new candle begins.

Late Timing Alert
Notifies the user when a configurable percentage of the current candle has been reached.

Alerts are disabled by default.

Main input parameters

IdealWindowPercent
Defines where the ideal timing window ends. Default: 25%.

AcceptableWindowPercent
Defines where the acceptable timing window ends. Default: 50%.

LateWindowPercent
Defines where the late timing zone ends. Default: 75%.

ShowTimingScore
Shows or hides the Timing Score.

ShowTimeRemaining
Shows or hides the remaining candle time.

ShowCandleAge
Shows or hides the current candle age.

AlertOnNewCandle
Enables an alert when a new candle starts.

EnableLateAlert
Enables an alert when the selected late threshold is reached.

LateAlertPercent
Defines the percentage used for the late alert.

Panel position, dimensions, font size and colors can also be customized.

What this indicator does NOT do

QM Candle Timing Meter does not:

• generate BUY or SELL signals

• predict price direction

• calculate win probability

• calculate Stop Loss or Take Profit

• open or close trades

• use artificial intelligence

Its purpose is deliberately focused:

measure the temporal position of the current candle.

This can be useful for discretionary traders, systematic traders and developers who want to avoid treating an early-candle entry and a late-candle entry as if they were the same event.
