Golden Thrust

Golden Thrust is an Expert Advisor developed specifically for trading Gold (XAUUSD).

The EA combines multiple independent breakout strategies in one portfolio. Each strategy monitors Gold from a different perspective and can enter, manage, and close trades independently. This distributes activity across several systems instead of relying on a single model.

Golden Thrust uses established breakout principles based on significant price levels, support, resistance, volatility, and price expansion. 

Gold is particularly suitable for this approach because it regularly produces strong directional movements and periods of expanding volatility.

MULTIPLE STRATEGIES — ONE EA

Golden Thrust runs multiple internal strategy engines, depending on the selected Trading Style:

• Less Trades: activates 3 strategies for lower trading activity.

• More Trades: activates 8 strategies and provides a balance between activity and diversification.

• Max Trades: activates all 10 strategies for the highest trading frequency. 

Each internal strategy uses its own trade conditions and position-management rules. Enabling more strategies can provide more opportunities and broader diversification, but may also increase simultaneous exposure and margin usage.

Golden Thrust analyzes several internal timeframes, ranging from M1 through D1. The timeframe of the chart does not change the internal calculations, so the EA can be attached to any convenient XAUUSD chart timeframe.

TRADE AND RISK MANAGEMENT

Every trade is opened with predefined protective and profit-management levels. Trade management includes:

• Stop Loss and Take Profit

• Break-even management

• Trailing Stop Loss

• Dynamic profit protection

• Pending-order expiration and replacement

• Limits on simultaneous entries

• Portfolio-level exposure checks

• Spread and available-margin checks

Golden Thrust does not use a loss-recovery martingale system.

An optional Pyramiding Winners feature can add positions to qualifying profitable trades. It adds only to winning positions. Because pyramiding increases exposure and margin usage, it is diabled by default.

AUTOMATIC POSITION SIZING

Golden Thrust offers several risk profiles:

• Low Risk

• Medium Risk

• High Risk

• YOLO — extreme risk, not advised for normal use

• Risk Based on Balance

The automatic profiles size the internal strategies using historical drawdown references and portfolio risk weights.

Risk Based on Balance provides a transparent alternative. You specify how much account balance should correspond to 0.01 lot, and Golden Thrust automatically adjusts the requested lot size as the account balance changes.

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION

Golden Thrust includes optional operational safeguards:

• Configurable Friday closing time (no weekend holding)

• Automatic removal of pending orders before the weekend (no weekend holding)

• Optional closing of open EA positions on Friday (no weekend holding)

• Configurable daily drawdown protection (max daily drawdown, usually used for prop firm compliancy)

• A 24-hour trading pause after the daily protection is triggered

• Free-margin and spread validation

• Separate Magic Number identification

The daily drawdown function can help when testing accounts with strict loss rules like prop firm accounts. However, it cannot guarantee compliance with any prop firm because calculation methods, reset times, slippage, commissions, swaps, and account-wide positions may differ per prop firm.

MAIN PARAMETERS

Magic Number

Identifies Golden Thrust positions and pending orders. Use a different Magic Number when running another EA or a separate Golden Thrust setup on the same account.

Trade Comment

Sets the label displayed in the trading history when supported by the broker.

Trading Style

Selects how many internal strategies are active:

• Less Trades: 3 strategies

• More Trades: 8 strategies (default, recommended)

• Max Trades: 10 strategies

A higher setting enables more systems but does not guarantee that more trades will always be opened or more profits will be made.

Risk Profile

Selects the automatic risk and position-sizing framework:

• Low Risk

• Medium Risk

• High Risk

• YOLO

• Risk Based on Balance

High Risk and YOLO can produce substantial drawdowns.

0.01 Lot per X Account Currency

Used only with Risk Based on Balance.

Example: when set to 10,000, an account balance of 10,000 requests 0.01 lot before broker volume rounding.

A lower value produces larger positions. A higher value produces smaller positions.

Friday Close Hour

Set to 0 to disable the feature. A value from 1 to 23 instructs the EA to remove its pending orders and close its positions on Friday at the selected broker-server hour.

Prop Firm Max Daily DD %

Set to 0 to disable the feature. When the configured daily equity-drawdown threshold is reached, Golden Thrust attempts to close its positions, remove its pending orders, and pause new trading for 24 hours.

Pyramiding Winners

When enabled, Golden Thrust may add controlled positions to qualifying profitable trades. It never increases position size as a response to a losing trade.

VERIFIED BACKTEST RESULTS

The following results are from the supplied Golden Thrust v2.06 MetaTrader 5 report.

These results were produced using the extreme YOLO risk profile and should not be interpreted as a recommended live configuration. The purpose of publishing the complete figures—including drawdown—is to present the test honestly rather than showing returns without their associated risk.

Backtests represent historical simulation. They do not guarantee future profitability, drawdown, trade frequency, or execution quality. Results can differ between brokers because of spreads, commissions, swaps, slippage, contract specifications, trading hours, and price-feed differences.
