Overview
LiquidX Hunter is a breakout-based Expert Advisor designed to capture high-probability moves by targeting liquidity levels — the zones where stop orders accumulate above recent highs and below recent lows. Built on Donchian Channel breakouts combined with ATR-based dynamic risk management, this EA is engineered to enter the market at the right moment, with intelligent position sizing and a built-in recovery filter to protect your account from emotional revenge trading.
No indicators to stack. No complex configurations. Just clean, rules-based execution — tick after tick.
How It Works
LiquidX Hunter continuously monitors price action relative to the highest high and lowest low of the last N candles (Donchian Channel). When price breaks decisively beyond one of these levels — the zones where liquidity is known to sit — the EA fires a trade in the direction of the breakout.
- Stop Loss is calculated dynamically using the ATR indicator, adapting to current market volatility. No fixed pip stop that gets hunted.
- Take Profit is set as a percentage of price, locking in realistic gains relative to current price levels.
- Lot size is calculated automatically based on your account balance and defined risk percentage, so every trade risks exactly what you decide.
- After a losing trade, the Recovery Filter kicks in and pauses new entries until price has moved a sufficient distance from the last loss level — preventing the EA from doubling down in unfavorable conditions.
Input Parameters
1. Liquidity & Breakout (Donchian)
Donchian Period — Number of bars used to calculate the High/Low channel. A higher value targets stronger, more established liquidity levels.
Offset Points — Buffer in points added beyond the channel boundary before triggering an entry. Helps filter out false breakouts and noise.
2. Dynamic Exits (%)
Take Profit % — Take Profit target expressed as a percentage of the current price. Adapts automatically to the instrument being traded.
Stop Loss ATR Multiplier — Multiplier applied to the ATR value to define the Stop Loss distance. A higher value gives the trade more room to breathe in volatile conditions.
3. Risk & Recovery
Base Risk % — Percentage of account balance risked per trade. Lot size is calculated automatically based on this value and the Stop Loss distance.
Recovery Distance % — Minimum price movement (as a % of price) required away from the last losing trade's entry before the EA is allowed to open a new position. Prevents revenge trading.
Magic Number — Unique identifier assigned to this EA's trades. Essential when running multiple Expert Advisors on the same account simultaneously.
Recommended Instruments & Timeframes
LiquidX Hunter V10 has been used and tested on the following instruments:
Forex Pairs: EURGBP · GBPUSD · EURJPY · USDJPY · EURUSD
Metals: XAUUSD (Gold)
Timeframes: H1 to H12 — the EA works best on mid-to-higher timeframes where breakouts carry more weight and noise is reduced.
The EA is fully optimizable for other instruments. Stocks, indices, crypto pairs, and other forex majors or minors can be explored through the Strategy Tester with parameter optimization.
