After using Smart Owl for about two months, I have come to the conclusion that I will not be using it again unless significant changes are made. The combination of the large stop-loss and an ineffective Smart Closure mechanism has resulted in substantial losses for me. If the following improvements are implemented, I would be willing to review the EA again and consider giving it a more favorable rating: 1. Add a trailing stop-loss feature Once the spread has returned to normal levels, a trailing stop-loss could help lock in profits and maximize gains when trades continue moving in the intended direction. This would improve profit protection and overall trade management. It is also vital to reduce the stop loss when spread returns to normal levels. 2. Improve the Smart Closure mechanism During difficult market conditions, such as those experienced a few days ago, it is crucial to gradually reduce the take-profit target over time (for example, every hour). This would increase the likelihood of exiting trades with a small loss or modest profit rather than allowing them to remain open until they turn into much larger losses.

The selection of trading pairs and time zones is highly effective, resulting in a stable profit curve despite a relatively low number of trades per week. Since winning trades are the norm, you might be tempted to increase risk. However, due to the nature of the strategy, as shown in backtesting, there is a possibility of incurring significant losses, even though it is rare case. Therefore, I recommend a conservative approach to risk management. Even with a low-risk setting, sufficient profits can be expected.

Smart Owl FX is a specialised trading tool designed for the "Night Scalping" niche. Instead of chasing the high volatility of the London or New York sessions, this EA seeks to capitalize on the mean-reversion tendencies of the Asian session. By focusing on the period between the New York close and the London open, it targets a market environment where prices typically move within predictable ranges. The Strategy: Exploiting Quiet Markets The EA operates on a high-probability logic: when the major institutions are offline, currencies tend to "range." Smart Owl FX identifies the edges of these ranges to execute quick, surgical trades. This approach often results in a very high win rate, as the lack of momentum prevents sudden, massive breakouts that usually plague trend-following bots.

Impressive EA, on of the best currency nightbots I encountered. It does not enter trades every day but the positions it opens end up in big profit. I gained 25% of my balance in 1 month with this EA.

It's a breakout EA, the execution is completely different between Backtest and Live. I am giving one star to this EA because I was kicked out of the Discord server after I wrote a message reporting a bug. The bug is the following, the EA opens trades with TP lower than open price, which makes no sens since the trade will be 100% a loss. I asked the developer to add a small fix for this to modify the TP and make it bigger than the entry price, few minutes later I got kicked from the Discord server.

Update : The developer did not kick me of his Discord channel, it was another administrator (who is selling an indicator and I just mentioned that it's scam). The developer checked the bug I reported and developed a function (option) to fix in Version 1.4, it works well now.

updated: Smart Owl is my top 3 EA, i have not had any stop loss yet, however, this EA is very broker dependent, so i suggest whoever get this, go for VT or Vantage and should be on a UK server account. 10/10

Really impressive results so far. After three weeks, the win rate is around 95% and the drawdown has been very low at about 1.2%. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I can definitely recommend the bot right now.

Account killer. You’ll likely be banned by most reputable brokers if you use this EA. On top of that, slippage can wipe out your account even faster than having your trades hit their stop-losses. At a medium risk setting, just two instances of significant slippage could blow your account. This EA is better suited for trading with less reputable brokers and small accounts under $200.
