QQE Signal Arrows and Alerts

4

QQE Signal Arrows & Alerts (MT5) is a lightweight QQE oscillator (Quantitative Qualitative Estimation Indicator) with clear Buy/Sell arrows on the main chart and configurable alerts. Signals are generated on the crossover between the QQE trailing line and the smoothed RSI line and are delivered as confirmed signals: the arrow is plotted on the next candle after the cross.

Trend confirmation using the 50-level

The dotted 50-level helps confirm the overall bias:

  • Long signals are typically stronger when both lines are above 50.

  • Short signals are typically stronger when both lines are below 50.
    (Optional confirmation filter to reduce noise in sideways markets.)

Market conditions / Best use

This indicator works best in trending markets. In sideways / choppy conditions, crossovers may flip more frequently and produce more back-and-forth signals.
For improved results, consider combining it with a trend filter, for example:

  • Trend indicators (e.g., Moving Averages / MA band, trendline, ADX filter)

  • Higher timeframe bias (e.g., only take M5 longs if H1/H4 is bullish)

Tip: For better results in trending conditions, combine QQE with a trend filter such as HalfTrend ATR Bands & Alerts (MT5) (paid).

How to use (3 steps)

  1. Attach the indicator to a chart.

  2. Recommended: enable useAtrOffset = true and adjust atrMultiplier to your preference.

  3. When the yellow line (RSI-MA) crosses the red line (QQE-TL), the signal is confirmed and the arrow is plotted on the next candle.

  • RSI_Period – RSI period

  • SF – RSI smoothing

  • QQE_Factor – sensitivity

  • alertsOn – enable alerts

  • alertsOnCurrent – alerts on current bar (true) or confirmed only (false recommended)

  • arrowsOn – show arrows

  • arrowSize – arrow size

  • buyArrowColor / sellArrowColor – arrow colors

  • useAtrOffset – ATR auto offset (recommended)

  • atrPeriod – ATR period

  • atrMultiplier – offset in ATR units

  • arrowsOffsetPts – fallback offset in points (if ATR is disabled)

FAQ

Q: Does it repaint?
A: Signals are designed as confirmed crossovers: arrows are plotted on the next candle after the cross.

Q: What are the recommended timeframes?
A: QQE is a universal momentum indicator, but it performs best on timeframes where market noise is reduced:

  • H1, H4, and Daily: Most reliable for trend following. Signals tend to be stronger and can catch larger moves.

  • M5 and M15: Good for scalping, but consider using a higher timeframe trend filter (e.g., only take M5 longs if H1 is bullish).

Q: Can I use the signals in an EA?
A: Yes. The indicator provides dedicated BUY/SELL signal buffers (confirmed), in addition to the oscillator line buffers.

Pivot points are a great idea. Every trader likes to combine different indicators/strategies. To keep this QQE indicator lightweight and focused, I’m planning to release pivot points as a separate tool/add-on in future (so you can use it with any strategy). I’ll update here once it’s available. In the meantime, you can combine it with any standard Pivot Points indicator in MT5. Thank you for your understanding
