GuardLens - Prop Firm Account Guard for MT5
One bad day can end a prop-firm challenge. GuardLens watches the whole account, every second, and acts BEFORE the daily or maximum loss limit is broken: it closes every position, deletes pending orders and locks the account. It protects manual trades and the trades of any other Expert Advisor on the same account.
Account rules
- Ready presets: FTMO 2-Step, FTMO 1-Step, The5ers High Stakes, personal account, or Custom with your own values.
- Daily loss limit, maximum loss limit and profit target in % of the initial balance.
- The daily reference is fixed at the reset as the higher of balance and equity, the strictest rule used by prop firms. The reset hour is adjustable to match your firm's server time.
- Initial balance from the input, or saved automatically the first time GuardLens runs on the account.
Protection
- Safety buffer: GuardLens acts before the real limit (for example at -4.5% when the limit is -5%), so slippage does not push you over.
- When a limit is reached: close all positions, delete pending orders and lock the account.
- While the account is locked, any new position (manual or from another EA) is closed at once.
- The daily lock ends by itself at the next daily reset. The maximum loss lock stays until you remove it (Unlock button, two clicks to confirm).
- Optional: close all and lock when the profit target is reached, so a passed challenge is not thrown away.
- Optional news lock: no new positions in the minutes before and after high-impact news of the currencies you choose (MetaTrader economic calendar), optionally closing open positions too.
Panel
- Progress bars: daily loss used, maximum loss used, profit target progress, with colours from green to red.
- Equity and P/L, trading days against the minimum required, next high-impact news.
- Status: OK, WARNING, LOCKED, NEWS LOCK.
- Light and dark theme follow the chart background, high-resolution screens supported, minimize button.
Alerts
Popup and push notifications to your phone when a limit is getting close (warning level adjustable) and when the account is locked.
How to use
Attach GuardLens to ONE chart of the account (any symbol) and keep the terminal running, ideally on a VPS: it can only protect the account while it runs. Allow Algo Trading.
Strategy Tester
In the Strategy Tester (not in visual mode) GuardLens opens small demonstration trades so you can see the guard at work. This never happens on a demo or real chart.
Free version: GuardLens Lite (monitoring and alerts only, it never closes or locks).
Notes
GuardLens is not affiliated with any prop firm. Presets follow the published rules at the time of release: always check your account's current rules and use Custom if they differ. A fast market or a price gap can still move equity beyond the buffer before positions are closed.
