The indicator monitors every candle in real-time and automatically detects the following patterns:
Engulfing Patterns (Bullish & Bearish)
The engulfing pattern is one of the most reliable reversal signals in technical analysis. A bullish engulfing occurs when a bearish candle is followed by a larger bullish candle that completely engulfs the previous candle's range. This demonstrates a shift in control from bears to bulls. Conversely, a bearish engulfing shows bulls losing control as a larger bearish candle engulfs the previous bullish candle.
The indicator identifies engulfing patterns with precision, requiring the current candle's body to be significantly larger than the previous candle's body, and the current candle must fully contain the previous candle's price range. This ensures only genuine engulfing signals are displayed.
Three Inside Up/Down Patterns
The Three Inside pattern consists of three candles and represents a strong directional continuation. Three Inside Up begins with a bearish candle, followed by a smaller bullish inside candle, and concludes with a bullish candle closing above the first candle's high. This pattern demonstrates buyers gaining control and preparing for a strong move upward.
Three Inside Down follows the opposite structure: a bullish candle, followed by a smaller bearish inside candle, and concluding with a bearish candle closing below the first candle's low.
Abandoned Baby Patterns
The Abandoned Baby is a reversal pattern with three distinct characteristics: (1) a strong directional candle, (2) a small doji or small-bodied candle with a gap from the first candle (no body overlap), and (3) a reversal candle moving in the opposite direction. This pattern suggests institutional traders are abandoning their positions, creating opportunities for counter-trend trades.
Strength Calculation Algorithm
Every detected pattern includes a confidence score from 0-100%, calculated using our proprietary strength analysis:
Body Ratio (50% weight): Measures the current candle's body relative to its total range. Larger bodies indicate stronger conviction.
Engulfment Ratio (30% weight): Compares the current candle's body to the previous candle's body. A significantly larger body demonstrates stronger pattern strength.
Projection Factor (20% weight): For engulfing patterns, measures how far the closing price extends beyond the engulfed candle. For three-candle patterns, measures the breakout strength from the inside bar.
This multi-factor approach ensures that traders receive reliable confidence metrics. A pattern with 85%+ strength indicates institutional-quality price action, while patterns below 70% may require additional confirmation.
CUSTOMIZABLE PARAMETERS

Minimal Body (Default: 0.5, Range: 0.1-1.0)
Controls the minimum body percentage required for pattern validation. Lower values (0.1-0.3) detect more patterns but increase false signals. Higher values (0.7-1.0) filter aggressively, detecting only high-quality patterns. Adjust based on your trading style and timeframe.
Show Percentage (Default: ON)
