Introducing Solitaire v2.97 — stronger entry protection and greater control
Solitaire v2.97 brings a major upgrade to trade selection, with new filters designed to screen out weaker setups and avoid entering when momentum is fading.
In our matching Pepperstone backtest against v2.84, the update delivered 85% fewer stop-loss exits, 50.3% lower maximum dollar drawdown, and a 98.90% win rate.
The update includes:
- New filters tailored to Solitaire’s strategies. Additional market-condition checks help identify conditions associated with failed trades.
- Standard and Safer entry protection. Choose Standard’s screening or Safer’s more restrictive filters and protective buffers. Entry profiles operate independently of your lot size and stop-loss distance.
- Exhaustion protection. Automatically included with Safer, and available as an optional switch under Standard.

It’s an impressive set of backtest results. What surprised me most: average holding time was under two minutes. This thing is in and out before most systems have finished confirming an entry. Minimal overnight exposure, no swap drag, no positions left hanging through news.

🎯 Who may find it interesting?
Traders who want defined-risk, single-entry exposure to gold — particularly anyone whose portfolio is already weighted toward grid or recovery-based systems and is looking for something structurally different to sit alongside it. Given the very short holding times, execution quality matters: a raw-spread account and a low-latency VPS are worth having before you run this live.

Solitaire — live signal, week one

The Solitaire live signal has now completed its first week on a Vantage Global Prime AU account at 1:500, running the medium risk preset.

Result: +9% growth against a 3.3% maximum drawdown. Ten trades closed, Sharpe ratio 3.26, average holding time one hour, maximum deposit load 26.8%.

Solitaire holds a single position at a time on XAUUSD. There is no grid, no martingale and no averaging down — each trade stands or falls on its own. Trading activity sits at 10.7%, which reflects how selective the entry logic is; the EA spends most of the session flat.

One week and ten trades is not a track record, and I won't present it as one. What it does show is that live execution matches the behaviour seen in testing: short holds, controlled exposure, and drawdown kept well inside the design tolerance. I'll keep the signal running and publish updates as the sample grows.
