Connectivity issues

 

Hi guys,

 I was wondering if anyone ever had similar issues and how to resolve them. This is part of my journal:

As you can see it failed to establish a connection at 04:05 and then kept retrying and managed to reconnect a few minutes later. This happens several times a day, and sometimes it takes even 10-15mins to establish another working connection. Of course I am losing valuable trades that way and I don't think it's acceptable.

I have contacted my VPS which is Commercialnetworkservices and they said that it's not an issue their end and the VPS was up 100%, but it might be a broker issue or a pathway issue? Apparently they have then changed my IP address so it would choose a better pathway but it still doesn't work.

My broker which is Activtrades is most unhelpful and their only suggestion was to restart my VPS.

 So I was wondering if anyone on here could help me?

first you need to make sure that the ISP connection is reliable and constant. then you need to contact your Broker and check with them if they have any problem with the DC they have, and in case there is any issue they should advice you to what server you should login.

Try to match the connect server ( or the DC) with the location of the VPS, its better if they are in the same region. 

if the broker is not helpful in the technical issues most probably they dont have a solid IT base for the system, you may need to change the broker! 

 

Hi, I'm in Germany and I'm having the same issues.

Connection fails randomly a few times a day. Takes a few seconds up to 15 minutes to reconnect. Updating the chart will then be choppy for a another few minutes

Last week the connection was down for hours. Called their international hotline (because their German one is offline since almost 2 weeks...), the guy said they were doing some server work... Nice, let me know before!

Since then, they have been of no help, although it is definitely on their side.

When the dropouts occur, ActivTrades MT4 will not update neither on PC nor on the iPhone.

In the same time, other accounts in the standard MT4 application will work fine.

100 Mbit broadband connection, no problems with the internet connection in general. 

 

I haven't been long with ActivTrades, but if this behaviour does still occur on a regular basis, I will not hesitate to change the Broker.
