What can cause a 401 error in MQL5 Market
This error means the following:
MQL5.community: authorization failed
There are a lot of reasons for your issue:
- your external VPS was banned by the Market by IP;
- or you do not have Microsoft Edge WebView2 to be installed on VPS;
- or some issue/problem with TLS 1.2
- more possible reasons.
---------------------
You should read this summary blog post to select the reason for your issue (because you only know all the technical details sorry, and because MQL5 Support Team will not support for the external VPS which is not related to MQL5 at all sorry):

Hello Sergey,
I have completed the troubleshooting tests.
My MQL5 account successfully authenticates in MetaTrader 5 on my local laptop, using exactly the same username and password.
However, on my Contabo Windows VPS, the MT5 terminal still shows:
-
MQL5.community: authorization failed
-
MQL5 Market: failed to get list of user products [401]
I have confirmed that:
-
TLS 1.2 connections work (HTTP 200).
-
Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is installed.
-
Port 443 is accessible.
-
MT5 is updated to the latest version.
-
Windows date and time are synchronized.
Could you please advise whether my Contabo VPS IP address might be blocked or restricted by MQL5 Market, and how I can verify this?
Thank you for your assistance.

No idea about it.
I know that Zomro provider was blocked with all subnets (and the subnets may have the names without "Zomro" for example) ... and may be - more VPS providers.
So, it may be the permanent block of provider or temporarily block by IP for day or two ...
Nothing you/we can do in case of permanent block, and you should write to the service desk asking them for advice - in case of temporarily block by IP.
-------------------------
As to Microsoft Edge WebView2 and TLS 1.2 ... I know about them because I had to re-install Microsoft Edge WebView2 on my new laptop (Windows 11) which I bought, and I enabled TLS 1.2 one more time on my old computer with Windows 10 ... and I had issue with my other laptop (similar with your "authorization failed" issue) which was fixed by "host file" fixing:

Hello MQL5 Support Team,
I have a persistent problem with MQL5 Community authorization on my new Contabo Windows VPS.
I cannot log in to my MQL5 account via the MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal, which I want to access and install the Expert Advisors I purchased from the MQL5 Market.
Account and system details:
MQL5 username: stambeto.aleksandrov
VPS Provider: Contabo
VPS Public IP Address: 173.212.2------
Windows User: Administrator
MetaTrader 5 Version: Build 6296 (October 29, 2026)
Broker terminal: Global Prime MT5
Errors shown in the MT5 log:
MQL5.community: authorization failed
MQL5 Market: failed to connect to the server
MQL5 Market: failed to get list of user products [401]
Troubleshooting is now complete:
I confirmed that my username and password work when I log in manually through a private browser window on the same VPS.
Confirmed that the same MQL5 credentials are working in MT5 on another computer or VPS.
I tested several new MT5 installations on the new VPS, with this error.
MT5 has been verified to be running the latest available version.
Checked time synchronization in Windows.
It has been confirmed that no proxy server is configured in MT5 or Windows WinHTTP.
Check your Windows Defender Firewall settings. Outbound connections are allowed and no explicit rule was found to block MT5.
Confirmed successful DNS resolution for www.mql5.com .
A TCP connection to www.mql5.com on port 443 was tested — successful.
Tested HTTPS connection using curl — HTTP 200 OK.
Renamed the local file mql5.community.dat to force a regeneration of the community data, but the problem persists.
It has been confirmed that the brokerage trading account has been successfully linked.
The authorization error appears immediately when attempting to log in via MT5.
Purchased MQL5 market expert advisors have not yet been installed or activated on this new VPS.
Could you investigate:
Is my VPS IP address blocked or restricted by MQL5 services?
Whether there is an account authorization or restriction, contact the device.
What can cause a 401 error in MQL5 Market when the same credentials are used on other computers?
Is there a known issue affecting MQL5 Community authorization in the Windows VPS environment?
I would be grateful for your help in resolving this issue so that I can install the expert systems I purchased without losing activations.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
