Bug - "Depth of Market" does not behave

Hello,

I came across a weird behavior from enabling DOM on the Terminal.. So, it's all good, as long as we do not change anything in the Market Watch.. The moment we do that, all hell breaks loose: DOM will not close from the menu, maybe it will close after many attempts with Alt-B, it "magnets" itself to newly added symbols - while those symbols are not opened on a chart, then you cannot hide the symbol, the DOM does not comeback until after we restart the Terminal, and so on.. I believe you get the idea, if you play a little bit with it, I believe developers should have a look at :)

PS I forgot to write that the issues appear when the DOM is already showing and then we append symbols to the Market Watch,

Not reproducible without clear information how to do it. Checked with B6182 and B6209.

Hello,

I was in 6182, it is happening on 6209 as well now.. So, I can see that there may be issues on how the window is managed: Just launch DOM (from the menu) and select another symbol from the MarketWatch, maybe a couple of times (to show better the effect).. Now, selecting from the menu again (Charts>Depth Of Market) will not close the DOM window.. instead, I suspect there could be a counter increasing each time we select another symbol in the Market Watch, and decreasing when we go the menu - but decreasing only while we are staying with the same symbol in the MW? Anyway, I believe it is a  "mess", if you try it you will see it as well I believe,

You keep repeating the same, it doesn't help. I said you I tried and could not reproduce any problem.

Click on the picture, it's a video.

OK, I 'll make a video as well, but I believe you did not try to close the DOM from the menu after all edits, can you try that and see what happens?

OK here is a video, what shows:
a) Open the DOM

b) The DOM magnets to the chart selected from the tabs

c) We can see that the DOM also magnets to the symbol selected on the "Market Watch" - but the moment we *just click* on "Charts" menu, the DOM now magnets to the symbol on the selected tab

d) This time, the DOM closes after *two* clicks on "Charts>Depth Of Market"  sometimes it can take more

All in all, I believe that what is happening there is not very well layed out

Ok thanks, with your video I was able to understand what you meant.

An other time please don't think what you experiment is obvious to everyone, without your video I would never have do the same as you did.

Yep, got that, I was about to make a video in the first place, but I was overwhelmed because there were many weird points and I could not figure out what was going wrong there (except that it was likely wrong).. so greets bye :)

However in my opinion it's a feature, not a bug.

Using the main menu, the popup menu or ALT+B is using the last focused symbol, either from a chart or from the Market Watch, if you click on an other symbol of the Market Watch compared to the already opened DOM, you get a new DOM window on this symbol.

Changing that behaviour (so closing the existing DOM with ALT+B) as you requested (as it's a bug for you) would lead the impossibility to open several DOM window.

If you want to close a DOM window you can either click on the Close button, or use ALT+F4 when the DOM window is selected.

I was inclined to some point to believe the same, until I just clicked on the "Charts" menu alone and the symbol on the DOM just changed (around in the middle on the video).. So there should be some messing - which as I said, makes it quite difficult to follow the logic there
