The recent MT5 Android updates changed the Chart Shift / Auto Scroll behavior and honestly it made live chart reading much worse.
Before:
- the current candle stayed at a fixed visible position
- every new candle shifted the chart smoothly to the left
- price action was easy to follow in real time
Now:
- the current candle slowly moves into the right edge
- part of the candle gets hidden off-screen
- users have to manually drag the chart back constantly
This especially hurts:
- scalpers
- lower timeframe traders
- traders monitoring live candle structure
The old behavior was one of the reasons MT5 mobile felt efficient for active trading.
Please restore the previous Chart Shift behavior or at least add it as an optional setting:
“Keep current candle fixed on screen”
A lot of traders rely on this functionality more than they realize.

This issue has been reported to MetaQuotes attention.
This update really changed the live chart-reading experience on MT5 Android. Keeping the current candle fixed on screen made price action much easier to follow, especially on lower timeframes. I hope MetaQuotes restores the old Chart Shift behavior or adds an optional setting like “Keep current candle fixed on screen.”
Build 5840 fixed a long-standing issue with the ability to display a bar to the right of the chart border. Update your terminal to the latest version, which is currently 5856.
The fixed chart indent is no longer present; with free zooming and panning, it is a thing of the past. The graph indent's position on the timeline is preserved across TF and screen changes, and application restarts.
If we receive numerous requests to restore stepped zooming or a fixed indent, we may implement a closer approximation in the future. Currently, such requests are very few.
If you suspect a bug, please send detailed information about the issue along with a screen recording to support@metaquotes.net.

pleaseee 🙏🙏🙏
Please give me back this functionality, restore that triangle button. I want the chart to stay in a fixed position even if I accidentally drag it to the right or left. I don't want to accidentally drag it; my finger doesn't want to drag it. I want the chart to always be in a fixed position, even the zoom level should be fixed according to a specific command: 1-2-3-4-5.
(iOS iPad MT5) How do I shift the chart to get an open space at the right edge?
- 2021.01.16
- www.mql5.com
The user discusses how to shift the chart on MT5 for iPad to create an open space at the right edge. They mention adding an indicator to a new window, such as MACD or RSI, which enables the shift feature. After adding the indicator, the chart can be shifted by tapping and holding the grey triangle at the bottom of the chart. The user also notes that this feature is available in MT4 and smartphone apps, and they provide a solution involving the RSI indicator and the grey triangle. They highlight that the solution works on their iPad and recommend using the correct indicator in a new window for the shift to function properly.
