Delete app from my phone and reinstall, then input details onto the laptop again?

Just delete the Android MT5 app, and reinstall the Android MT5 app. The data saved in the laptop will not change.

Edit: It just occurred to me that you may not have restarted your laptop MT5 after changing your laptop MT5 settings. Please do that as well.

Remember that when you close the desktop terminal, you will stop getting your notifications.

This is right, right, ryan?

My understanding is that "Notifications from the local terminal" require Desktop MT5 to be running, while "Notifications from the trade server" do not require Desktop MT5 to be running.

To be clear, I haven't tested that understanding because all of my trades are placed algorithmically in Desktop MT5 and to me, my Mobile MT5 is merely reduced to a beeper (yes, I'm that old 😂) of sorts.

Even so, the language of the Notifications Options in Desktop MT5 certainly seems to logically confirm my understanding. That is to say that the "local terminal " necessarily involves Desktop MT5, while the "trade server" is a remote device. The OP in the following thread appears to allude to this as well:

How do I choose which Metatrader 5 mobile notifications I wish to receive?

Enyinna, 2026.03.11 11:16

I moved from CTrader mobile to MT5 mobile and it feels like a downgrade in terms of notifications. CTrader gives you the options to choose which notifications you wish to receive. But in MT5 mobile there is no option to choose which notifications you wish to receive. As a result of this, I keep receiving a flood of frequent annoying notifications for the things I don't need to be notified. I only need notifications for position closing and I find it annoying to receive notifications for every other unnecessary things.
When a user manually carries out trade actions on MT5 mobile, the trade action should not trigger a notification because the user is already active on the application and knows he is carrying out these trade actions. Receiving notifications in this circumstance is not necessary and doesn't really make sense
Keep in mind that the universal link between all devices is the Metaquotes ID─not Desktop MT5.

Which account is locked exactly? (Trading account?, MQL5 account?). What do you mean by "locked"? Need more info.
