missing tick data

Yesterday when I was doing some backtesting of EA

I realised that ticks data were missing for year 2023 and before resulting the testing quality to be 0

What could have happened?

Do I need to contact the broker for this?

I have tried to delete all tick data and tried to re-download but data are still missing for 2023 and before

Oh no.

I tried the EA above. The oldest tick is 2024.01.01

Brokers sometimes delete old tick history, then there is no way to get it, even if it was previously downloaded.


Different access points may contain different amounts of historical ticks. Try changing access points and downloading ticks.

I tried that already. But have just one year plus history isn't too little?

that would depend on the strategy. if it is scalping or interday trading, then, probably not.

Brokers don't care.
